“great place to stay in zurich”

THE CORONADO IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY. HOPE ON THE TRAM AND YOUR IN CENTER CITY OR TO THE AIRPORT. THE STAFF, ROOMS, BREAKFAST WERE JUST FINE. A GREAT ITALIAN RESTAURANT 50 YARDS AWAY . HAD FUN IN ZURICH AND AT THE CORONADO..

“Ideal for tram from airport and easy ride into Zurich centre”

Very friendly and helpful staff made the stay here enjoyable. Not expensive at all in an expensive city and tram stop outside was perfect for getting to and from the airport and city centre. Neighbourhood seemed safe and enough local shops and restaurants to satisfy if you only have a short stay.

Area recommendations
Didn' t think Zurich had much to offer other than the old town in the evening. Otherwise use Zurich as a stopover before visiting the rest of Switzerland.

“Can't wait to go back!”

reception staff all friendly, helpful! they have a basket of Suisse apple sweet, and so good to crack your teeth in. 20' walk to town. good exercise. take the tram to hotel just 20' and stop right accross the hotel. and happy that the room rate drop -I got credit back, luckily I just checked to see their hotel rate before I left, 10/12-19: one wk stay!

Area recommendations
where the hotel is. there's a park right accross. hotel rate was cheaper than the one in town. and only 20' walk. if not take tram 7' to 10', but cost 4.1 fs. expensive Switzerland.

“Convenient for a short break, close to the airport and the city center”

I liked Hotel Coronado location and easy access from the airport, however, I wasn't impressed at all with the entrance to the hotel. Carrying heavy suitcase and extra hand luggage I found it really hard to navigate the entrance steps without any help from the hotel staff. The staircase should have at least a slope to help guests with heavy luggage when the hotel staff help is not available. The same applies to the departure from the the hotel. Room and the bathroom were clean but the room was very small and it was difficult to find space big enough for opening my big suitcase. Otherwise, the staff at the reception was very kind and helpful and I would recommend this hotel for a brief stay.

“Excellent location, great value”

I stayed here for two nights, and booked it because of the comparatively cheap cost of the accommodation. It was the best decision I made. The hotel is across the road from a tramstop which serves several tram lines (including the airport tram) and, due to the efficiency of Swiss transport, I could get into the city centre in literally 10 minutes, as well as get to other locations quickly too. It saved me a lot of money, and it was great to be so close to the centre and to the transport hub. The hotel looked decent enough but was really good inside: neat, clean, well-maintained, with friendly staff. The room's LAN internet connection was lightning fast. I had a great stay and I will be back when I'm next passing through Zurich.

“Excellent, peaceful surroundings, highly recommended, reasonably priced for Zurich”

Take tram #10 from Zurich airport, #14 from Hotel to Central district. The hotel is excellent in all respects. Only improvement required is on AC noise. The hotel is situated in a really peaceful surroundings next to the University Gardens. Always buy day pass at 13 francs per day or 40 franks for four days which includes fee of 10 francs free for visit to the Museums, for travel within the city zone 10 which covers all the main attractions, tour buses, train central station etc. This pass is valid for travel to the airport also. First tram to airport is #10 at 0515 hrs and if you do web check in you can easily make a flight even at 0630 hrs without any problem. Do not forget to go to Jungfrau, it is at 11330 feet above sea level. Carry camphor and asthalene spray if you suffer from breathlessness.

Area recommendations
Sandwiches are priced at standard rates even at Jungrfrau or such tourist places. Tap water in the hotels is drinkable. Do not carry mineral water. Switzerland is expensive. But Coronado Hotel is the best thing that one can recommend for the price, peaceful surroundings, cleanliness, very cordial staff etc. Next door is Italian Pizzeria Restaurant.

“Good value in Zürich”

Not bargain basement rates, but good value for the money. Spotless rooms, helpful staff, FREE parking (in Zürich!) on site, and a short single-tram hop to the centre of town.

Getting around
The 24- and 48hour bus/tram passes are a great deal, and the service is frequent, whereas driving in a car-hostile city like Zürich can be frustrating (there are bus and tram and bicycle lanes, but usually just a single lane with short traffic-light intervals for cars, not to mention pedestrian crossings everywhere).

“Great value, clean”

we were very pleased with our recent staty at the Coronado. Getting there was very easy (Tram 10), and getting to the old city was equally as easy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms were updated, clean, neat. Across the street is a very nice park for running, etc.... All in all, a very good smaller hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of central Zurich, and yet not that far away.

“Good hotel but very small room”

The hotel is easy to reach (take Tram 10 or 15 from Zurich HB station and get down in Milsbuch). Its just opposite to the tram stop. Hotel is good otherwise but the rooms are very small even by European standards.
