“Would certainly go back”

Friendly reception with the offer of a glass of wine on arrival. Could not fault the room. An excellent breakfast was provided and we would certainly go to this hotel again.

Area recommendations

The center of Zurich is not very big and where the Helmhous Hotel is located (on the water front), is very convenient for business meetings.

“Great Stay in Zurich”

A super place to stay - bright, modern rooms; friendly, helpful staff; brilliant location close to old town and Lake Zurich with lots of restaurants and shops nearby.

“Very highly recommended central hotel,”

My daughter and I stayed at the Helmhaus Hotel for three nights and were both very impressed with all aspects of it. The hotel is in a quiet location but only a few minutes walk from the main attractions. Both of our rooms were more than adequate in size for two people, with a large modern bathroom. The wooden floored rooms were clean and furnished to a good standard, with comfortable beds and pillows. A very comprehensive breakfast was included. The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative.

Area recommendations

I would recommend walking round the old part of the city and wandering into the side streets, where the houses are beausifully decorated.

The old city side streets, trip to the mountains, boat cruise on the lake.

Good restuarants, but very expensive.

“A fantastic place to stay”

This hotel could not have been any better. It was pefectly situated for everything we planned in Zurich. It may be the smallest 4 star hotel in Zurich, but don't let that fool you... It was just a wonderful place to stay!

“Swiss Timing”

“Expensive but convenient”

The hotel is expensive for its amenities. It is, however, located perfectly for Zurich exploration. The bedroom, bed itself, and bathroom are very small for a room designated for two. The buffet breakfast was on time, reasonably stocked, and the buffet service was good. You should be aware that the expedia rate is much better than the rate you will be quoted there. In fact, when i attempted to get the room for one extra day, the day rate went up immediately by one hundred dollars. The only problem with the hotel location is that it is far enough from the train station that most would need a taxi, which is quite expensive. Travels should be aware that if they arrive in Zurich by plane, you can take a train directly from the airport for eleven dollars per person. This is much less than the seventy dollar taxi ride.

“Great Hotel - Great Location”

My primary reason for selecting the Helmhaus Hotel was it's location - it is centrally located in a great area. Once I checked-in, I was very pleased to find that it was very clean and well-maintained. The best aspect of the hotel was the friendly and helpful staff that went the extra-mile to make the stay enjoyable. Also, the breakfast buffet was superb. Would definitely stay here again!

“Convenient and quiet”

Great location - close to the heart of the city but also near the river and lake. Reasonably quiet location. Old town walk just a minute away with quaint shops. Convenient to trams for easy city access. Good breakfast. Rooms adequate but not up to American "spaciousness" as is typical of most European hotels. Not exactly a "value", but nevertheless highly, highly recommended.

“Helmhaus”

Flight was delayed and I checked in after 23:00. The front desk assistant was friendly and helpful and the complimentary glass of wine was welcomed after the trip. The breakfasts were wonderful with strong good coffee being served. The room was modern clean and spacious and the free wifi had an excellent speed. They need extra blankets in the room but I could have also asked for it at reception. Wonderful location close to the trams and the best locations such as the Grossmunster and the Kronenhalle,Odeon etc. Excellent value for money. I would stay there again.

Area recommendations

The location is central to Bellevue and 10 minutes away from Paradeplatz and Banhaffplatz station.
