An integral part of the skyline of Zanzibar, along with mosque minarets, Hindu temple towers, and church spires, is the Tower Top restaurant of 236 Hurumzi. The second tallest building in Stone Town Zanzibar, the hotel has been restored to its former glory when it was the residence of one of the richest men in the Swahili Empire. Atmosphere is of principal import as the furnishings are all original Zanzibari antiques of varied origins and styles that, together, create the impressions of Arabian Nights and sultan princesses escaping in the dead of the night for romance.

236 Hurumzi has 2 restaurants. Guests are offered a complimentary hot and cold buffet breakfast. The hotel offers a complimentary reception on select days. Tower Top Restaurant serves mixed cuisine mainly seafood and equatorial cuisines. Lunch has an a la carte menu including classical favorites like hamburgers and pizzas or falafel and wraps. Dinner is a fixed price 5 course menu with option for supplemental seafod choices with Lobster thermador, crab in the shell, and grilled jumbo prawns.

Our fixed price dinner menu consists of home-made bitings and appetizers, a delicious soup, a choice of an Indian Ocean seafood salad or fatoush salad, your choice of fish, beef, chicken, or vegetarian entree, or from our supplemental seafood menu, Lobster Thermador, Grilled Jumbo Prawns or Deviled Crab, offered at an additional tariff.
