“Fantastic European Hotel”

Zagreb is a real gem of a destination for a great city break. The Regent Esplanade is a wonderful classical style hotel which has been thoroughly modernised throughout. The whole of the Croatian capital city is within a short walk of this hotel. There is a huge range of varied bars and restaurants serving excellent, principally local fare. There are seemingly endless cultural spots to visit including museums, galleries and the impressive cathedral. For a weeknd away in Central Europe, you really can't do better.

“Superb hotel, wonderful staff - great w.end had by all”

This was a surprise birthday for my partner. I had organised the trip with us arriving earlier, but meeting up with 7 other friends at a restaurant in town as a surprise. I telephoned the Regent Esplanade to arrange that the rooms were all in the same area of the hotel and check the reservations were ok. 2 people not on the list, but were soon accomodated - I hasten to add it was our fault, not the hotels. Renata on reservations was extremely helpful and when she heard of the surprise was amazing - booked our restaurant, arranged a secret plan and everything ran like clockwork. When we asked the hotel to book a recommended restaurant for the following evening the restaurant was full, so after some gentle persuasion we were booked in at a time to suit us. I cannot say how wonderful this w.end was. We wanted for nothing and were not happy to leave this beautiful hotel and it's lovely staff.

“a brilliant and convenient hotel”

This hotel ticks all the boxes for a traveller to Zagreb. Ideal location for busses, trams, trains and for a stroll uptown and downtown Zagreb. Near to all amenities. Hotel staff were polite, helpful and always courteous. Breakfast 10/10. No tea/coffee facilities in the room, this was disappointing. A swimming pool would have made this hotel score 10/10!!!Leisure facilities were good. Small health club and spa. We had a fantastic time. Try Vincek ice cream parlour on the main ILICA street near tyhe square, and check out the outdoor market nearby.

“Very impressed”

Just returned from a 5 day break in Zagreb. The Hotel Esplanade is perfectly located to view the small but interesting city. The attention to detail from the moment you arrive when registering is enjoyed with a glass of sparkling wine is superb as was our suite. I would highly recommend this character hotel

“A must stay place when in Zagreb!”

Absolutely wonderful hotel! Big room & most comfortable bed, very friendly and efficient staff. When/if in Zagreb again would definitely stay here

“Best Hotel in Zagreb”

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night break in the Regent Esplanade in Zagreb. Helpful and professional staff, good restaurants and bar, very comfortable rooms, recently renovated. Used to be an overnight stop of the Orient Express on its way to Istanbul !! and rightly so. Still has the old charm. Will definitely, stay there next time.

“Very nice stay”

Enjoyed a very nice 3 night stay at the Regent. Couldnt fault the hotel at all. It's situated within a 10 min walk of the centre with a very good and cheap tram service. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, in particular Ana Dominovic. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the Zinfindels restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

“Value for money and a classic place to stay”

We paid a good value rate for a well-appointed room with space for our children to sleep on a pull-out bed. The foyer and public areas of the hotel are beautiful and classic old-style glamour. The rooms are modern and done out in a luxurious manner. The only downers were that the service was a little patchy. Despite asking before we left to go out for dinner, our children's beds were not made up on our return at 10pm. Also our luggage was not brought up to the room until we made a call to chase it up. On the flip side of that they failed to put our morning room service coffee on our bill in time for check out and so they comped that, which was nice!

“Excellent value”

Very impressed with the professional service at the hotel, it was an attractive building and the room was well maintained and of a good size. King size bed was great - a proper one rather than 2 single beds pushed together.
