Hotel located near the metro station, you can also reach there by shuttle bus directly from airport. Lots of good restaurants in a walk distant.
Have nice amenities and grate lobby area. I have upgraded to their suite unit which was very nice,
Very nice hotel. The mall and stores are few blocks away; easy to travel on foot and view the busy city. It's worth $70. Two things i'm concern is, the bathroom doesn't have it's own privacy. It's just right around the corner of the bed. Internet is not top-notch. One or two staff can understand and speak English, which is nice.
Rooms are dirty, everything is used up. They don't even provide you with shower gel, or shampoo properly.
I had an argument in front of the lobby with a Chinese, and I asked for help with the translation. The lobby boy left, someone came from the reception, but was not willing to translate, told me to call the police. Not what you would expect as help from the hotel staff.
The other bad thing since last year is the Taxi situation. The hotel has 2-3 Taxis standing in front of the hotel, but you can not take them on the meter, like other taxis, but they tell you for how much they take you to places. To places near buy they don't even accept the ride, on longer rides they ask 30-50% more. And the hotel knows about his, and does not do anything. So if you as a hotel guest need a proper Taxi, you need to catch one that is not in front of the hotel. This does not happen at any of the international chains.

This was my second time staying in Marriott Guangzhou .The location is perfect ,rooms always very clean, beds were comfortable, cotton bed sheets with lots of pillows were perfect as it was very warm/summer. I would definitely recommend China hotel/ Marriott to my friends and family. Looking forward to take my son next year.
Located in the center of Guangzhou city, the Yuexiu district is home to Guangzhou’s city government. Yuexiu Mountain is surrounded by a beautiful park that offers a serene and relaxing oasis from the busy city center. The Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, a Buddhist temple that was originally built in 537 AD, features a beautiful statue of the Bodhisattva Kuan Yin.
