I was alone but never felt safer. The metro is at your door and you can travel cheaply to all the important places ( I was shopping)
Taxi cabs also at the door of the hotel if you wish. The staff speak English which is very important in china . Customer Service as per china standard was good.
My dad flew into GZ on a Monday night, flight was delayed an 3 extra hours, so I needed to call (it was after midnight same night) to ensure my dads room was still available (and it was). Because he arrived so late, 2am, they also extended his checkout time free of charge. I was beyond excited about both! I wasn't able to meet and take him to this hotel so I was glad things worked out for us.
Hotel staff is able to understand basic English. On phone and face to face.
Room was clean (floors, shower, no stains on blankets) and had a decent view. Comfortable bed.
If you don't mind walking the two blocks, it's close to a metro station. And about 20 mins walk to Zhujiang New Town.
Dad also forgot his jacket in the closet but staff found it before we knew it was gone. They kept it for us and we went back a few days later to pick it up. A little confusion, but all ended well.
They also hailed a taxi for us in the rain!
Will go back to this hotel and recommend it.

Spent 3 nights here very handy with train station so easy to get around. The room was very good with a great bathroom, staff were friendly and very helpful and gave directions to where we wanted to go and directions to the sights to see. the only minor problem was the TV remote not turning the set off and the battery compartment held on with sticky tape.
If you go to Guangzhou, just hope you can get a room here. This is as good as you will get for very reasonable prices. When things go wrong - as is the case with all hotels - The Paco stands out in doing their very best to fix your issues. Room costs are very reasonable, and includes breakfasts that are great. The staff are professional, organized and some speak several languages.
