13 minutes from the valley floor so great location

Posted 21-Apr-2014
Pros: location near park and next to roaring river
other reviews had me worried especially since we have stayed and eaten at high end properties around the world. the room was fine, the staff pleasant and the meals good enough considering the location and price.

Nice room bad bed

Posted 17-Apr-2014
Pros: Great location, close to the entrance to the park and well laid out.
Cons: Like I said they have to improve on the beds, I'm sure I am not the only one to feel this way.
Location: Locations great, lots of things to do in the park.
Great place to stay, the rooms are very generous and roomy. My only problem is that the bed was so firm and the pillow was about the size of a throw pillow. Improve these and you have a great hotel.

Wholly recommend Yosemite View Lodge.

Posted 16-Apr-2014
Pros: Well equipped kitchenettes. Great views. Great location.
Cons: Better mattresses.
Great location near Yosemite. You can be into the park in just a few minutes. And you cannot be the view. We enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot tub while listening to the Merced river flowing right behind us. As well as dinners on our balcony watching the sunset change the view on the canyon walls. Only negative was that the mattresses weren't great- but everything else was perfect.

Great location

Very close to the western entrance of Yosemite. Big rooms at a decent value for the location. Decent food in the restaurant. Excellent pizza! Beds and pillows were not very comfortable

Location is GREAT, river is beautiful, but...

Posted 13-Apr-2014
Pros: Location! It is nice and close to Yosemite - a 20 minute drive to the village.
Cons: Almost everything could be updated. I was disappointed that - as they were NOT busy, I was given a room where things did not work, such as the fridge
Location: 20 minutes to Yosemite Village - this is what you are paying for. Also a stop for the "Yaris" transit.
You are paying for the location. I had a river view room which I booked after reading traveler reviews here and on Expedia. I traveled with my 13 year old and my daughter joined us for a night. I was glad to be on the river, however, know that in April, the river is LOUD. The noise is sufficiently dimmed when you close the balcony door, and provides nice white noise as a background to sleep. It is a nice motel, with several buildings. In April, all the pools and Jacuzzis were closed or out of service except at the indoor building. I was disappointed that this was not mentioned at check in, because I would have requested to stay closer to the Jacuzzi. Our room, in "Redbud" was the 3049- on the third floor. Had a fridge (which did not work and our carton of Ben and Jerry's from the lobby store melted) a microwave, a stove top. A huge but not functioning Jacuzzi tub. It was an OK room, but I felt like for the rates they were charging, it was not terribly special. We ate at the pizza restaurant one night, and the pizza was very good. The salad bar was not great. Overall, however, we had a great time. It was nice to be close to Yosemite, and be able to sit on the balcony and listen to that amazing river crash by with a glass of wine at night. The employees all seemed to be distracted and not terribly excited to be there. Not rude, but not really into customer service. Beds were hard, pillows were hard. Even with this, it was great to be near the village

Reasonable hotel

Posted 11-Apr-2014
Reasonable location, Reasonable price, Reasonable facility, and so on. If you can reserve "Lodge at the Fall", it would be the best choice. But if you missed it, "View Lodge" is one of the greatest second option for you.

Good alternative to stay close to Yosemite Valley

Posted 08-Apr-2014
But, the hotel condition is not close to the value of the price you pay.

Spring time visit

Posted 04-Apr-2014
The room was okay for the price. The facilities are getting a bit long in the tooth. Also, restaurants and bars on site close early during the spring months. Decent place to stay because it's cheaper than staying in the valley but the drive isn't too far.

Yosemite get away

Posted 24-Mar-2014
Pros: It was right on the river and very close to Yosemite., Indoor pool, kitchen Great to have the option to fix something quick for breakfast or dinner
Cons: I would recommend replacing microwave, toaster, add wine opener.
Location: Hiking, walking, site seeing at Yosemite, visiting the falls. It was breath taking!
The trip was fantastic, even with the visit from a raccoon in the middle of the night.
