Love the fact we were right outside Yosemite

Posted 27-Jul-2015
Our room overlooked the river which created a beautiful tranquil feel in the early morning hours and after a long day in Yosemite National Park. Our beds were super comfortable allowing for a restful night sleep.

Functional hotel close to Yosemite entrance

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: Room overlooking the river
Cons: Room was very dark and the railings aroun the balconies were not particualrly pleasant to look at and offered no privacy.
Location: Only a couple of miles from Yosemite park entrance, about 20 minutes to Yosemite village. Other than Yosemite there is nothing to do around the hotel
Other than staying in Yoemite this was the closest we could get to the park. Staff were pleasant and room was functional if somewhat dark. We specifically requested a room overlooking the river and this made the stay for us; it waslovely sitting on the balcony each evening and just listening to the river. Food choice was pretty limited with the pizza bar offering takeout service (pizzas were good). There was alos a restaurant which looked a little pricey; we didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. We were there for Yosemite so the hotel was fairly incidental to the stay; however having a river view room made all the difference.

Hotel à l'entrée de Yosemite

Posted 22-Jul-2015

Convenient access to Yosemite.

Posted 21-Jul-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Working stove top.
Location: Hiking and other outdoor pursuits.
Very nice to have a restaurant within walking distance to our room. Used the kitchenette for one evening's meal. Stovetop power was limited to just one working burner out of two which extended our meal preparation. The selection of groceries in the lobby was more than expected and fairly priced. Mattresses were comfortable and shower was adequate. Nice to sit by the river and enjoy the scenery.

Hôtel proche Yosemite

Posted 21-Jul-2015

Much nicer than it looks!

Posted 20-Jul-2015
This hotel is only 2 miles from Yosemite and so much nicer than staying in Yosemite village, which was heaving with visitors. Yosemite View Lodge looks nothing from the outside, but we stayed in Redwoods and it was lovely once you got in the room. We only booked a Standard room, nothing better but it was actually a little apartment with two double bedrooms, a very comfy living room, dining area and full kitchen, and bathroom. Very nice toiletries renewed each day. And more coffee supplied than other hotels we stayed in. Plus 3 TVs. There were little ants in the kitchen (nowhere else) but to be honest it was the kind of place/environment that would struggle to get rid of them (the maid obviously tried). They weren't a problem - you just had to keep food in the fridge. I would highly recommend this hotel - ask for the upper room/apartment at Redwoods.

OK but not great. A motel more than hotel.

Posted 17-Jul-2015
Pros: The location is a plus. The pizza restaurant was quick, delicious and cheaper.
Cons: Needs an upgrade. Removing the dingy, dark carpets would be a start....
Location: Yosemite Park is great for hikes, pikniks, recreation, and generally getting back to nature. We saw a bear and deer. Glacier Point is a must!
We were given a room facing the road, which i am sure pulled our estimation down quite a bit. The room was dark, and to be frank quite dingy. It definately needs an upgrade. The refrigerator door dragged on the carpet, the shower was slightly more than a trickle. The top-comforters didn't inspire a feeling of being someplace clean. That said, the beds were comfortable, the maids did the best they could with what they were given. The pools were small, but clean and nice. The hotel employees were nice and helpful.

Yosemite Stay

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Great location if you're staying outside Yosemite National Park. It's the closest hotel to the valley. Rooms are outdated and are best compared to rooms in old state lodges. Room and bathroom was spacious but in need of updating. Room does come equipped with a small two-burner stove, microwave and mini-fridge. You can purchase groceries in the hotel lobby but at a premium. Items like milk run out quick. The AC unit while good at keeping the room cool was also quite noisy. Highly recommend the hotel for its location but don't expect a Hampton.

The towels have yellow marks. The blankets/pillows are very old. We had to ask for pillow cases. The mugs are old and have stains.
