Great location! Beautiful Scenery!

Posted 24-Nov-2014
This hotel was really nice. Had a room with a patio right on the river. Perfect place to stay right outside of Yosemite. The only a few minor problems with the fireplace and shower but the staff took care of it right away. We would definitely stay again.

Comfortable motel at the gates of Yosemite

Posted 18-Nov-2014
Pros: Great value for its proximity to the park.
Cons: Some features needed a bit of repair/updating.
Location: Extremely close to Yosemite Valley.
We stayed at this motel because it was the closest we could get to Yosemite valley. The stay was a great value, allowing immediate access to the park. The furnishings were modest and could use a bit of repairs/updating, but we didn't plan on spending any time on-site except for sleeping.

We found this hotel on a last minute search to visit Yosemite. It was a great location and great price. We had a ground floor room with outdoor patio and opened onto the Merced River. The view was beautiful. The room was a good size the the bathroom large, compared to most hotel bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again. It was decent for the price and location we were looking for

would rather a tent if weather was nicer

Posted 13-Nov-2014
the rooms ordered thru expedia are two bedded rooms, which is a weird room for a couple. dirty carpets that smell old. old decorthat is not vintage. TV had lines going in it. the view you get is of the parking lot. no free wifi or calls. no maps or tourist information whatsoever. overpriced hats. the rooms also have a full kitchen but unfortunately the motel deli lacks basic products like fresh milk. located very close to yosemite valley but the ride back after dark is a bit scary, so take a rooom just if all the rooms in yosemite are full.

Hotel for two legged cattle

Posted 12-Nov-2014
Pros: location
Cons: most everything. Staff that were somewhat polite would be a good place to start.
Not sure how this place got a high rating. It's a motel with a crummy restaurant, nothing more, nothing less.

As close to Yosemite Valley as you can get

Posted 12-Nov-2014
Pros: Room included a fridge, kitchenette with stove top and dinner ware which is nice so you can make your own dinners
Cons: Make sure flatware sets are complete. more complete grocery store.
Location: The best part is that it is the closest place to the Valley you can stay without actually being in the Valley.
Yosemite View Lodge was a very nice place to stay. The staff was nice and accommodations were comfortable. The best part is that it is the closest place to the Valley you can stay without actually being in the Valley. You don't have to drive down the 26 mile road from the 41 or 22 miles from Wawona. The on-site restaurant is pretty good (3.5 out of 5) and the indoor pool and spa is great to relax after a long day of hiking and bouldering. Our room included a fridge, kitchenette with stove top and dinner ware which is nice so you can make your own dinners and save some money. I'd recommend shopping at the store in the Valley for food since it was more complete and had better prices. The drive into the Valley is about 15 minutes.

Could've been a lot better

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Pros: Location. That's it. Price was okay for funky.
Cons: see experience above..
The Lodge has a great location and great potential but it needs some TLC. I had misgivings booking our stay here since I had read yelp, a number of them quite negative. Right away, I couldn't help noticing the flaws: the stains on the sofa cushions, cigarette burns in the chairs, mildewy shower curtain, a lamp that wouldn't work, flickering TV's. I had to call the front office for the spoons and cups that were absent from the kitchenette. But we got used to it over our six day stay. The location was great..a short drive into Yosemite. The price was decent. So, why doesn't the management clean it up, do upgrades like La Quinta has done, put in newer TV's, install sturdy screens at the sliding doors to keep out the darned raccoons that come in your room, and how about a DVD player in the room? I think I get why. It's because people are willing to put up with a funky place to be near the park. Would I stay there again? Nope, nor can i recommend it. I will pay more to have a more pleasant experience.

When we arrived we were pleased to find our room had a fireplace and was facing a beautiful stream. Highly recommend you stay here if you're wanting to be close to the park entrance

Nice hotel minutes from the park

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Nice place... Wifi too pricey but at least worked very well no cell signal whatsoever in town (att at least) so that was necessary to plan the hikes. Restaurant very good for the money for breakfast, ok for dinner nothing great nothing bad. Friendly staff. Amazing location Expedia price a great deal.

Nice hotel on the river

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: Location, pet friendly, kitchenette
Cons: Restaurant food and service, include free wifi like every other hotel these days
Location: Yosemite Park
Stayed for 4 nights while hiking in Yosemite Park. Convenient location near park entrance. Nice clean rooms on the Merced River. Loved sitting outside on the patio listening to the river after hiking all day. Nice to have a kitchenette in the room as there are only a couple of restaurants to choose from. The food at the restaurant on site is not great, and the service is slow. Pet friendly, with a reasonable fee. They charge a ridiculous fee for wifi. but that actually gave us a great excuse to be off the grid for a few days. Overall, we had a good experience and would stay again!
