“Good location & very comfortable hotel.”

Yosemite View Lodge is in a fabulous location just a couple of miles from one of the Parks entrances. I was travelling with my 23 year old son and although we didn't get a room overlooking the river we had an amazing one with the second huge bed on a mezzanine floor reached by a spiral staircase which afforded a littel more privacy. Excellant facilities if you wanted to self cater. We had pizza for the two nights we were there - good quality and reasonably priced. Main restaurant fairly limited menu and not very inspiring. This hotel would benefit from having a bar as there is no where really to go in the evening and it would be nice to sit out with a drink.

“Amazing location and the river view was great!”

We arrived half an hour early to check in but we were given a room anyway. Hotel is great and the river view room was stunning. You can sit on the balcony and watch the river Merced rush past you. It's very noisy but an amazing view with a wow factor! The room was very large, the bathroom great and the kitchenette was adequate for making simple meals.Overall a fantastic location.

“Yosemite View Lodge - perfect location for National Park visits”

My wife and I just spent 2 nights at the Yosemite View Lodge as part of a tour around California. First thing to note is that the address which comes on the booking confirmation is right... but somehow SatNav's don't like - we ended up about 60 miles away (on the right road) but a quick call to the hotel confirmed where to go and that this often happens! The hotel sits about 5 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite Park, it's location is really convenient. Our room had a kitchenette, double spa bath with 2 showers and a balcony so was nicely equipped. The hotel shop seems to be priced knowing there is little else around - $7.50 for a small pack of Kraft (plastic) cheese and $4.50 for a loaf of bread for example! We went in early March which is a little out of season, this seemed great as the park was nice and quiet and still had snow, but the hotel only had one restaurant open (of the 2 they have) and that closed at 8:30 pm on the Friday night we stayed (not sure if it stayed open later on the weekend as we made sure we ate early!). We found the staff very helpful and would definitely recommend the hotel and a visit to the park.

“Great place to stay!”

Was very pleased with this hotel. It takes about 25 mins to drive to the "day parking" in Yosemite village so was very close. The room was large and clean with basic cooking facilities which was useful for preparing a packed lunch for your day's hiking in the park. Althouh basic, the stove and utensils were good enough to cook a meal in the evening if you don't fancy venturing out. We had a room at the back of the hotel with the river running just yards away. The views were great, but I'm sure it wouldn't have quite the same effect if you had a room on the road side. In summary, we spent 3 nights here and would recommend this hotel to anybody.

“Maybe better than inside the park”

From soem of the reviews I had mixed expectations. However, I loved the hotel. The room was large, great bathroom and fantastic river view with our balcony just above. Rather quaint decor but suited the room and gave it a country feel. Great to have kitchen facilities although utensils sparse. It was good to cook one night and make our breakfasts to have a rest from the huge portions of rich, sweet and salty food that seems difficultto avoid in USA. Pizza takeaway on site excellent value and great pizza. Really close to park and I could see no benefit in paying more to stay inside park at this time of year as top of park still closed because of snow so everything nearby the end we were anyway. Pools looked good but too cold at this time of year. Planned to use health facilities but were so comfortable in our room in the evenings we didn't leave!

“Be in, but out of Yosemite”

Great location just outside the El Portal entrance to The Park which is only 2 miles away. Make sure you choose a river view room where you can sit on a balcony and enjoy looking at The Merced River and valley with no one else in sight! The drive into Yosemite is the most attactive of the Southern /Western approaches. Staff friendly and helpful. Room very spacious with kitchenette which was very convenient.

“The gateway to Yosemite in scenic surroundings”

Lodge style hotel with big hotel appeal and facilities. Obliging staff. Enjoy a "g&t" on your room balcony overlooking the gushing Merced river while the sun goes down!

“Great location, great price”

We booked this hotel with price and location in mind and we were not disappointed. 4 of us were sharing this hotel room, it was spacious, had great views of the river (balcony looked out over it), bathroom was superb and so were the kitchenette facilities. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the found was fine. We had a great time in Yosemite and this added to our experience. It was only a 15min drive into the park from the hotel.
