We made the booking for the hotel just a day before our trip through Expedia. When we got there the hotel manager apparently did not have a record of our booking. He realized later that somehow he had missed the info. It turned out that we had booked a room with two queen beds but when we got there they had all been taken. The person in charge did his best to find us a room with a single queen and he got us a roll-in bed that we somehow managed with. Apart from this experience, we found that this hotel is well maintained and the staff is very responsive.
I quite liked the wrap-around porches with places to sit, the named rooms and the amenities within the room. Delightful breakfast; we each received "coupons" and could order from the menu. I loved the proximity of the "oldest saloon in California." Groveland was a small mountain town with a large park area - children's playground, picnicing, toilets. The next morning we really liked the book sale that the library was having. We liked the reading room in the hotel; it had a lot of atmosphere. If we happened to be passing through Groveland, CA again, we would stay at the Groveland Hotel.

I took my daughter to the Tenaya for a surprise 9th birthday trip and it was the best experience ever! The friendly staff even sent her a basket of goodies with sparkling cider and a birthday card. The cabin was perfect and we enjoyed swimming indoors in a heated pool, ice skating and dining onsite. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I were travelling around Calafornia from the UK and had three nights booked at the Tin Lizzie Inn, are room was a small suite complete with outside space to sit and relax in, which was more than we were expecting!, the hospitality was very good and nothing was any trouble (some people may find this too intense, but just the kind nature of the owners). Breakfasts were amazing and set you up for the day.
