Smart hotel, wonderful position with gardens and walks near the sea. Main problem we found was poor internet and mobile phone connections due to the hotel position.

The staff made it for us, they were superb, nothing was too much trouble. Everything you needed was provided and the price was reasonable. If you are visiting this area go for this hotel.

"The Best B & B ever"
We arrived to be greeted with smiles and treated with fresh cream scones and tea and from that point on nothing was too much trouble for Freda and David, our lovely hosts. The room was spacious with a 5 foot bed and the on-suite was an even more spacious bathroom. Although the décor was more "shabby chic" than "minimalistic" everywhere was clean and recently decorated and the bits and bobs in the room were mainly functional; so Freda and David seemed to have anticipated our every need. The tea and coffee making facilities included loads of special teas, Horlicks, Ovaltine, chocolate and if it wasn't there Freda would offer to get us some. Our hosts successfully made it their mission to spoil us during our stay and yet we found them un-intrusive .

"A lovely, comfortable Inn in a delightful position"
This Inn/ Hotel is an absolute delight. We spent a weekend at the White Swan and could not have had a better experience. The buildings are old [ in the main part] but are superbly looked after and fitted out. Our room [12] was large and had a super bed - some 8 ft wide. There was a really good tea and coffee facility on a pull out tray - these little things make such a difference - and the radiators [ with thermostatic valves] were large enough for the cool weather. The bathroom was well fitted out and pleasant to use. The staff were excellent. The hotel was quite busy on the Saturday night but we had service from the staff which is by far the best and most efficient that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in all my years of visiting hotels. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was super - and the wine list was long and of quality.

"Nice B&B in a great position close to town centre"
Nice friendly atmosphere, set in a courtyard off busy street. Most rooms overlook the courtyard, where you can enjoy a drink a piece of the beautiful home made cakes and tarts available in the tea room. Quite spacious rooms, having en suite bathroom, drinks making facilities, flat screen TV (with satellite) Lovely full English breakfast served 9-10 am, with hot beverages and juices included. Sanders is situated just a few yards from The Shambles, so is close to shops, bars and restaurants. No parking at the B&B, but there is a long stay car park a couple of hundred yards away, where 24 hours costs £6.50. If you're eating in Whitby in the evening, eat early, as most places are shut for food at 9-9.30pm.
