Stayed in hotel while visiting with granddaughter in Middlesbrough. Somewhat lengthy drive each day but acceptable. Everything about hotel very nice. Food, cleanliness, front desk staff, especially breakfast service staff. Only issue was hangers in wardrobe (in room 124). Majority of them were bent and would not come off holder. Nearly impossible to hang trousers or shirt on hanger unless you can get it out.
Picturess hotel with excellent rooms Very comfortable clean and attractive rooms Food was top class although pricey Beach was very beautiful and a pleasant walk although you will need to drive down and park as very very steep walk

Welcome to the Cliffemount Hotel, a very special country house by the sea, where relaxation, comfort and the finest dining …More
Absolute delight, Sharon & Paul were really hospitable, the room beautiful but what sets it apart are the little touches - eg. homemade cakes & biscuits, breakfast choices, dvd's/books to borrow, a wonderful home from home! Cannot recommend enough and look forward to our next stay.
Had a good 4 nights stay at the Rosewood B & B in Whitby. Freda and Dave gave us a good welcome when we arrived with tea and scones. Cumfy room, large bathroom, and a good variety of drinks also fridge with fresh milk every day. Big cooked breakfast and very nice cake to take out with us every day. Freda and Dave were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay.
"A lovely, comfortable Inn in a delightful position"
This Inn/ Hotel is an absolute delight. We spent a weekend at the White Swan and could not have had a better experience. The buildings are old [ in the main part] but are superbly looked after and fitted out. Our room was large and had a super bed - some 8 ft wide. There was a really good tea and coffee facility on a pull out tray - these little things make such a difference - and the radiators [ with thermostatic valves] were large enough for the cool weather. The bathroom was well fitted out and pleasant to use.
The staff were excellent. The hotel was quite busy on the Saturday night but we had service from the staff which is by far the best and most efficient that I have had the pleasure of experiencing in all my years of visiting hotels. Nothing was too much trouble.
The food was super - and the wine list was long and of quality.
I can not fault this B&B, especially for families. We took a 3 month old baby. A travel cot was provided and our baby slept very well in it. Our 10 year old was also very comfortable in her large single bed. The breakfasts were excellent. The landlady was very friendly and welcoming which was lovely.
