Our hosts were extremely helpful, informative, friendly and always cheerful. The breakfasts were above and beyond many 4 star hotels, freshly cooked and always served with a smile (and a quip). We couldn't recommend the place any higher - 10 out of 10.
Right from our arrival, we were made to feel at home by our very hospitable and welcoming hosts. After checking in, we were given a tour of the B&B and shown to our room. Our large bedroom overlooked the large garden at the rear and was decorated in a lovely quaint cottage style - perfect for the location. Even the tea/coffee making facilities came with slices of delicious homemade sponge cake! As other reviews have mentioned, the breakfasts are simply huge and all the locally sourced cooked items are freshly cooked to order. The location is spot on for walking as well as driving around the area - Whitby, Staithes, Sandsend and Robin Hood's Bay are just a short drive away. You could even drive the half mile down to Runswick Bay if you don't fancy the steep climb back up the hill. There is a lovely pub just a few minutes walk down the road, with others just a short drive away. The staff are all highly knowledgeable of the surrounding area and are happy to give recommendations. The two nights we stayed simply weren't long enough - we're already planning our next trip there.
From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Friendly informative staff were making sure we had a good stay. The room had terrific views along the coast, the facilities were excellent and out breakfast was marvellous.

Dramatically situated 600 feet above sea level, overlooking Robin Hood's Bay in the North York Moors National Park and midway …More
Well kept rooms to a high standard, tea-coffee making facilities limited (take your own top ups!), TV (SKY) and wi-fi (although we had top room in the house so you could only connect when sat on the toilet). Convenient for N York Moors and Whitby (bus every half hour during day and just under £10 taxi fare). Breakfast very good. Didn't stay for dinner as a bit expensive.
A lovely modernised Victorian family home with quality furniture and decoration, all with wet rooms. Breakfast beautifully prepared and presented and cooked to order. All food top quality and fresh as well as satisfying. The addition of daily home baked cakes, biscuits and breads - delicious! A most enjoyable stay.
