"Great week end break in historic York"
Half an hours walk from the town centre so ideal location for a walk into York centre, the meal in the hotel was very good so no need to leave the hotel if your tired from shopping. BTW the outlet centre is only a mile or so in the opposite direction so prepare your wallet for a bit of a hard time but great location.

"2 night stay"
Received a warm welcome from reception and were surprised to have a good sized 4 poster bedded room allocated to us. Nicely furnished and comfortable mattress. Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the pool. Good choice for breakfast and it was good to have a choice of bar food or restaurant dining in the evening. The hotel staff were very helpful and efficient. Boroughbridge is a charming little town with friendly people willing to give advice to "lost" tourists.

Pocket Guide: North Yorkshire York Best Western Hotels

Once enclosed by ancient fortified walls, York offers a wealth of cultural and historical sites, including York Castle, the National Railway Museum, and York Minster, a Gothic cathedral in the city center. The Shambles is a pedestrian-friendly street dating back to mediaeval ages, where it housed butcher shops. Today the scene is less gruesome, with quaint boutiques and tea rooms lining the road.
