Two seniors on a road trip from California spent four nights at the Hotel Noir in York, UK. We have a car and were able to find a space in the hotel lot which holds about 7-8 cars. Our room was on the 3rd floor and there is no lift but hotel staff helped get our luggage upstairs. Being older we probably should have asked for a room on a lower floor. The room was fine, facing the back so quiet. The bathroom was not too large, and, as we have experienced with most hotels in the UK, there is not enough counter space or bars to hang towels in the bathrooms, nor a shelf in the shower to put soap on and that was true here too. Wi-fi worked well. Our rate included breakfast and there is definitely a variety to choose from, cold and hot. For lunch or dinner, food is available in the dining room.. The pub next door mainly serves Indian food so there is not a lot of choice in the area besides there and the hotel. The hotel is a good mile from the Munster so we often ate before returning in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
