Cheap but nice!!

“Good location, poor service”
We stayed at the Melia Purosani from 2 to 4 Sep 2011. From the moment we arrived at the hotel confusion started. Not only that it took them half hour to find my Expedia reservation, but the so called Level room was more like Deluxe room. The pictures on the website show really nice open room with balcony - NO! Not in reality, because you apparently need to REQUEST the balcony. Terrible! To cut the story short, after paying higher rate on expedia to accommodate my daughter as well, they still demanded that I pay extra for my daughter. Wireless internet in the room? Which room? The only good wireless signal is in the loby, not even in the lounge. My immediate reaction was to just leave but hotel was paid in full. After they realised my complete disatisfaction, they upgraded us to a better room (two level suite). To me, too little, too late. The tour with Mr. Agus made it quite pleasant and that is what I will take as good thing from this visit. I personally will not go back to hotel Melia Purosani.
“Grand but tired”
The hotel is very grand and the hotel staff very helpful and efficient and the grounds/swimming pool are nice. the room itself was comfortable, large, clean but the hotel is old and tired. Overall, our stay was fine, BUT the hotel is situated next door to an amusement arcade and also there's a street down one side of the grounds that does Karaoke every night!! and it is pretty loud!! so the evenings were very noisy outside but the music finished at 10/10.30 pm. Not good if you have young children.
“yogya melia great staff”
To visit Borobodur etc the Melia staff are very helpful and friendly and its location is good for the Sultan's Palace
“Excellent location in City”
Possibly the best hotel choice in Jogja, clean, well maintained, attentive staff. Negotiate transfer to airport to equivalent price charged from airport to City. Adequate restaurant with wide range of food choices. Drinks expensive.
“Very nice place to stay”
Beautiful hotel. We stayed on the executive floor (6th floor) which was only a few dollars more. They had free internet, a lounge, and food in the afternoon. The room was very nice and quiet with a view of the pool and gardens. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The coffee shop/restaurant is good with a nice buffet for most meals. There is a chinese restaurant also. The spa has all the usual things available, also quite reasonable. The location of the hotel in Yogyakarta is good, about a mile from the Kraton. We didn't explore the city at all this trip.

Extraordinarily kind and friendly service, especially guest support; excellent restaurants (chinese and international); nice traditional style ambience; rooms with city view are noisy, due to very busy streets surround, also rooms situated directly over the bar (life music); some technical installations need overhaul/renewal
“melia puri sani hotel yogyakarta”
gunstig gelegen hotel vlak bij alle toeristische atracties ontbijt is goed en er is een leuk zwembad met tuintje om wat te relaxen. hotel en kamer zelf erg zakelijk en beslist niet gezellig of sfeervol vonden wij , maar wij waren er 2 dagen om Yogyakarta te bezichtigen en daar was het prima voor. Wij zaten op de 6de etage en die schijnt luxer te zijn dan de daaronder gelegen etages. dit hadden we met bijbetaling aldaar omdat we anders pas 's middags op de kamer konden en met een vroege vlucht is het fijn meteen op de kamer te kunnen (incl extra ontbijt)
