The is a beautiful tradional manor house set in a working farm with riding stables. Just to have the opportunity to stay in such a lovely place was an experience. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was of good quality. A world away from the usual mass produced hotel room.
Excellent hotel with a good selection on the breakfast menu the room was a good size and the cleanliness was outstanding Carolyn the owner was very helpful with telling us the local places to go and see we will recommend this hotel to all our friends

Karl and Julie,
Excellent hosts at quiet rural location with lovely garden. The upstairs rooms are B and B with ensuite, nicely decorated. Bed is soft, quilt is featherdown. TV/DVD adequate. WC and shower are cramped but at the mid-week price that is a quibble. Fridge not in room but you can use household fridge downstairs. Satisfied customer.
Even though I arrived late and in the rain and they were very welcoming, showed me to my room and the facilities and left me to it. Just what I wanted on a wet night. The bed was very comfortable and the linen of a good quality.
The hotel is set in a gorgeous setting on the East Dark River. Breakfast is in the conservatory over looking all this with a lovely hot meal served with a spread of cereal, yogurt and fruit.
After breakfast I had a lovely walk out past the gardens and along the river.
The pub itself was what you would expect from a traditional English pub. The food was very average, the chips which are difficult to get wrong were hard. The food was bought in microwaved food, which is only ever going to be average at best. Saying that we asked what home-made puddings they had - apple pie and that was lovely. Instead of micro food, they should have less choice but home made quality food and they would be full all year around. The breakfast was good, the rooms were just ok. The accommodation did what it said on the tin, but for the same price The Hilton in Bristol was in a different league. Maybe not to compare the two. The food is the main obstacle to a better experience. There was only one choice of red and white wine, surely not in a pub. Think of the mark up on bottle of decent wine?
Just returned from a 3 night stay with Amanda and Michael and felt compelled to write a review which is something I very rarely do! They achieved a close to impossible task over the nights we stayed with them and cplrtrly changed my mind about small hotels! We had room 1 which is spacious, light and airy with fantastic views. Amanda and Michael are brilliant hosts and pulled out all the stops to make us welcome and comfortable. Breakfast, presented by Michael in his own inimitable style, was excellent and we enjoyed the evening meal that we took in the hotel. I'm won over. Relaxed and refreshed, we're looking forward to our next visit.
