The property is old but well maintained. Rooms are old but very tasteful. Only fault seems to be that walls are paper thin and could hear bathrooms used by other guests . Otherwise everything was lovely

Enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Chateau Yearing Hotel. Beautiful surroundings and enjoyed a magnificent dinner and breakfast. A short walk to Yearing Station and more wonderful views and wine tasting.

Old wild charm
Absolutely gorgeous stately mansion, beautiful garden and the breakfast area and the breakfast was superb. Shame we only stayed for a night.

Reconsider staying here
It appears the owners of this “once high-end” property have lost complete interest in their guests. It’s run down, dirty, very poor if any attention from staff. We stayed in the top-end room. The view was beautiful over the Yarra Valley but that was the only positive experience we had. A 24” TV with most free-to-air channels not working is below standard. There was a DVD player and DVD’s could be borrowed from reception but they were from the 80s and 90’s. You’d expect more for a $500+ per night room which wasn’t cleaned properly. The pool was green with algae. A shadow of its past glory.

This was once a beautiful property. I even had my daughter’s wedding here but now terribly tired. Needs a lot of money spent to completely renovate. Could be made into something magnificent again.

We had a lovely stay but there were a few areas that need attention. I felt like the rooms needed a bit more attention, eg, cracks in walls, dirty marks, unwiped desk areas with rings from old coffee cups, sagging mattress. Also breakfast was tasty but fairly small portions. It’s a premium price so should be perfect. It is however, a beautiful building and the common areas are beautifully decorated!

Birthday celebration
We had a 2 night stay for a birthday celebration. After dinner we sat in the drawing room in front of a roaring fire which was magical after we had enjoyed a 3 course meal which was really delicious. Breakfast was also plentiful and delicious. 2nd night stay in the room was disappointing as the heating was not working and the room was really cold, we advised management which they gave us a blow heater which did the trick, The premises is dated but old worldly, we were advised a change of ownership 3 months ago will have future changes to the property. We would be interested to return in 12 months time to see what improvements have happened.

Its like a peaceful stay in the country

We enjoyed our stay at the property but the dinner at the restaurant was really disappointing. Way overpriced the first course was amazing but they brought a jug and didn’t pour the whole thing for everyone I just wanted more. Next 2 courses were almost inedible and the main meal was tiny had good flavour but only 4 tiny pieces of beef, the dessert was also pour. My wife did a matched wine pairing and was unhappy with all the wine choices. I was still hungry when I left, pretentiousness food not worth it.

Accommodation was beautiful surrounded by a beautiful garden. All staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and has everything you need for stay. Breakfast was excellent and their restaurant was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I'd definitely go back and highly recommend this hotel
