"Wonderful Breakfast but Only Adequate Rooms"
A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights, as a home-base for local genealogy research. It was an affordable choice for the area, and the location was very convenient for our Yarmouth research and day-trips as far afield as Digby. We had motel room reservations, rather than B&B rooms in the main house, but we are very glad we opted to have our breakfasts at Lakelawn -- for only $10 each (plus tax), we enjoyed platefuls of ham, eggs, toast and fresh fruit, with juice and coffee, all served with care in a beautiful setting. These breakfasts were the best quality and value of our week, and I highly recommend them -- just reserve your seats the night before.
That being said, our motel room was sparsely furnished, the mattresses were pretty old and uncomfortable, and the two pictures hung on the walls were peculiar choices. If you plan to stay for several days, as we did, you might want to unpack some of your items, but our room had NO bureau with drawers, and only a tiny closet with only a few hangers. The shower and toilet are in a tiny, separate room, with the sink area separated from the sleeping area by a wooden lattice screen. While there was a small free-standing shelf unit for their towels and our toiletries, there was no counter area around the sink, poor lighting, and no hooks or towel bars for hanging wet towels or washcloths. On a positive note, the microwave and fridge and wi-fi worked, the water temp and pressure in the shower were good, and our room was clean.
