“not a good choice.”
arrived late due to flight. girls at front desk spoke very little english. in restaurant i asked for steak - told there was none. no smoking room stinked of cigarettes. bought a large airfreshner to get rid of the smell. bathroom had mildew.second night at chinese resaurant i asked for deep fried shrimp - didn't have any. my last night i asked for fish and chips and had to eat chicken instead. poor for a 4 star hotel. girls in european dining area spoke better english than front desk. recreation area was closed. hotel in not in a good area, would not go back there.
“Pleasant hotel rather far from city center.”
The hotel is "normal" chinese hotel, room was clean, receptionist can speak English very well. But for going to the center city you need taxi and it was sometime problem, because in front the hotel there are only taxi without taxametr. The swimming pool is small and cold due to aircondition.
“Mediocre, But Maybe Good for Xian”
If you are used to "real" four and five star hotels, lower your expectations if you plan to stay at this hotel. The hotel is about 45-60 minutes from the airport, but is in a decent location. There is a bus that takes you there for RMB 26 per adult (free for kids). You can spend ~RMB 15 per cab ride to the "center" of town (near the Bell and Drum Towers), but don't expect the hotel to get a cab for you; you have to walk ~300 m to the road and hope you can flag one down. The food is mediocre and they charge a lot ( almost USD$10 for a small box of milk, RMB 100 for breakfast). English is not the forte of the staff. Rooms are run down, but the AC works. The Concierges knew almost nothing. WiFi is available for free in the lobby. If you go to Xi'An make sure to spend some time in the Muslim Area - amazing food, reasonably priced gifts and knick knacks, and the people in that area are honest.

“Great hotel for the price.”
It was a very nice hotel, almost too nice. We felt a little uncomfortable as we are use to staying in cheap hostels and 2-3 star hotels, and are not use to all the bellboys and other staff rushing to fulfill your every need. The staff was very attentive and The staff was very friendly and most spoke English. The rooms were nice and clean, excellent value for the price. The location was outside the city walls, but easy access by cabs and bus.
“Reasonable hotel, but check others first”
This hotel was an acceptable hotel, but I would probably not go back. 1) It was a little too far out of town. The taxi ride into town was 15RMB, not really that much. But after touring all day we didn't have the energy to hop in a taxi to go; but we WOULD have walked. I recommend hotels downtown next to the bell tower. More activity, shops, etc. 2) The buffet meals were expensive and only so-so. 3) The pool was cold. I swam, but my wife would not.
“Very enjoyable stay”
disappointed that I had to pay extra for internet service , but other than that I was extremely satisfied with my stay at Jianguo
