“Quick Trip to Xian”
My wife and I only had a one day stay in Xian and found Aurum International to have a good location, comfortable room and facilitiues, as well as terrific service at the desk. A quick but pleasurable stay!

our room was near the upstairs and it was very noisy. The staff was very nice. The location also.
“Average Hotel”
The reception was unpleasantly rude. Wanted to charge RMB 1,000 for deposit, until I asked why so much she then dropped it to RMB 500. No explanation of the hotel facilities, when ask where to book the tour, all she did was pointing. No greeting, no smiling. My husband doesn’t speak Mandarin and had a query but the girls at the reception can’t speak English. I then had to drop what I was doing to explain it to the reception in Mandarin. Buffet meal was average, the price for the buffet is reasonable.The deluxe room was comfortable with separate living room.
“Was okay”
For an international hotel I was not overally impressed as when I booked a tour the business centre where unable to communicate in English at all. She was only able to say, wait one minute. She left the business centre and returned after 10 minutes with someone else. It took over 30 minutes to book one tour. Our room was facing a park that had very, very loud music that started @ 6am in the morning for a few short minutes. Then @ 6:30am again @ @ 7:00am it would play for 20 minutes. It was a bad experience. We also asked to exchange money which was AUD and it was listed on the daily rate exchange board, however they where not familuar with AUD and unable to confirm if the money was valid / real. In the end they just did but requested we have American dollars next time.
“Terrible service from reception”
The Aurum hotel is a nice hotel, with all the conveniences one would expect (although small bedrooms) but the way we were treated by staff was terrible. The main example is when we came to check out - the receptionist charged us for an extra half night's stay because we checked out 30 mins late even though one of her colleagues had given us the ok for late check out. She refused to change her mind, threatening us that if we did not pay the full cost she would have to pay for it out of her own pocket (which is ridiculous). Her attitude to us was terrible and condesending, and of course her boss 'was not onsite' when we asked to speak to him/her. She assured us that it was inconceivable that a late check out could be without charge and that this was impossible to find in China, even though we had been offered this numerous times during our trip! We ended up paying, and it really spoilt our stay.
“Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo”
Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Il servizio in camera è ottimo: passano anche la sera per cambiare gli asciugamani e preparare per la notte. Alla reception sono professionali e anche se non tutti sanno l’inglese, è comunque possibile avere tutta l’assistenza necessaria. La posizione è ottima: è a poche centinaia di metri dalla Torre della Campana e dal quartiere islamico e molti dei luoghi di interesse sono raggiungibili a piedi. La struttura – nonostante l’aspetto elegante - presenta qualche pecca: la porta dell’armadio a muro era rotta e il contro-soffitto del bagno presentava crepe. La colazione (non inclusa nel nostro pacchetto) è abbastanza ricca e di buona qualità. E’ sicuramente un hotel da raccomandare considerato il servizio, la posizione e il costo.
