Misleading Marketing

Posted 10-Apr-2014
Pros: Pool, facilities
Cons: Marketing misleading
Location: Nice countryside and canals.
The hotel is split into two sites. One very nice - the other like a motel. The motel site uses the main hotel's pictures for marketing so it's a bit disappointing on arrival - although you can use the main site's facilities which are very nice.

Stay for a 5 day intensive course.

Posted 11-Jan-2014
Pros: Plentiful parking. Good wifi reception in the room. Quiet and clean. Good shower.
Cons: Restaurant.
Location: On the A5 and 6 miles from Oswestry. 1 other pub and restaurant nearby.
Found the hotel through Expedia last minute as I was looking for a quiet place not to break the budget for a 5 night stay. Room was clean and tidy. Didn't interact much with the staff as I was away on a course for most of the day. Parking was plentiful and convenient. Didn't try the breakfast. Had dinner there 1 evening and was totally unimpressed. WiFi reception was very good in my room.

What major Road?

Posted 15-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
Lovely room on the ground floor and fantastic service throughout. Considering we were at the side of a major road there was absolutely no traffic noise in the room.Plenty of parking and a garden centre next door if you need entertaining.

Very satisfied

I read a load of reviews as I wanted to make sure this hotel fitted the bill for a 2 adult 2 child break for a couple of nights and I must say we weren't dissapointed. Its a decent hub. With the accomodation you get use of the facilities at the club down the road, the pool is a bit tired though, but would recommend. You also get free access to the Badgers play den, which is good for 30 minutes of burning some remaining energy for the kids, it's not the best soft play I've been to but for free it is well worth a visit, my kids are 3 & 5 and it entertained them. As for the hotel itself it was clean, not immaculate bit dusty here and there but the upstairs downstairs was great as it separated the kids from us so they could go to bed early without us disturbing them. The pub attached to the hotel is ok, if you are after burger and chips but the menu is quite small and the other meals aren't too good, we were given a warm bottle of wine too, the kids meals are good, you get 10% off the bill as well if staying at the hotel, but I would highly recommend going to the pub which is 5 minute walk down the road from the hotel. It was extremely busy when we went, and I know why, the food is excellent and the drinks also, the kids meals are great, the final bill was £5 more than the pub attached to the hotel which is well worth the extra money. All in all would stay there again as for £118 for 2 nights in the easter holidays and to have access to facilities it's worth it.

Excellent place to stay for business or leisure

Posted 12-Apr-2013 on Hotels.com
The Moreton Park Lodge looks good from the road and more than lives up to expectations. A large twin room with a full complement of quality amenities and the softest most absorbent towels make it a most comfortable place tp stay. The staff are all very pleasant and welcoming too. Meals are taken at the neighbouring Lord Moreton Pub/Restaurant and are excellent and the Sunday & wednesday Carvery superb and very good value. Breakfast is served here too and a good start to the day is guaranteed for just £5.50 with everything from cereals to full English beautifully c ooked and well presented. For those with longer to linger it is possible to use the Lion Quays gym and pool which is very close by and under the same ownership. The whole team deserve to be congratulated on the wonderful job they are doing and we shall return whenever we are in the Wrexham area.

Great hotel - very convenient stop-over

Posted 17-Mar-2013
Pros: Convenient and economical
Location: Just off main road- Very easy to find
Had a really peaceful night's sleep here. This hotel feels like a Premier in shape, size and levels of accommodation. Clean, comfortable and very economical. We had a very pleasant dinner in the adjacent pub - on Wednesday they have a very popular carvery. And also a very enjoyable breakfast in the morning. This hotel would be a good base for walkers / families visiting Snowdonia. Also very convenient for business travellers. There is also a large shopping centre next door- and they have more than one cafe- selling coffees and afternoon teas.

Good value hotel

Posted 05-Feb-2013
This hotel is a really good price and has everything you need to hand. The rooms are just as you would expect, with enough space, comfortable beds, tea& coffee making and normal bathroom. Nothing amazingly special about the decor, but clean tidy and spacious. The pub next door does the breakfasts and has a really nice country atmosphere with a nice fireplace and lounge chairs and bar area. I have stayed a few times and have also booked it for my parents to visit. Use of the Lion Quays gym and pool is also a real bonus!
