“A stay steeped in tradition and quality”
The hotel struck a balance between luxury and comfort very well . Staff were quirky and pleasing. Breakfast was delightful and all cuisine requests were accommodated. Location and premise superb , spa disappointing as tired and lacking luxurious feel and pampered ambience .Staff at spa did their best but we're young and were not proactive in dealing with delays and customer satisfaction.
“A lovely couples escape”
Very positive and helpful . Lovely rooms though should have had prior warning about apparel for the dining room we had pre booked . We had to use the adjacent brassiere for supper .
“Romantic, traditional Cotswold hotel”
A beautiful hotel in a wonderful Cotswold town. I requested an upgrade as it was my husband's birthday which the hotel kindly gave us. We had a great room in one of their cottages - the dog even tried to get back in whilst the room was being cleaned! The room was in a very quiet position, next to the garden and there were even welly boots in the wardrobe if we needed them. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and made a great fuss of our dog, Cadbury! We would definitely stay at the Lygon Arms in the future. It was very romantic and had lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was fantastic, the service was brilliant.
“A super place to spend our Golden Wedding.”
From the moment that we arrived to when we left we cannot find a fault, we were greeted at reception with a glass of champagne when they realised we were celebrating our golden wedding, the room was up to a high standard with nice towels and toiletries, the evening meal and breakfast were first class nicely presented, in all a perfect time, thank you all,Jennifer & Brian Jan
“"Olde worlde' excellence.”
I am surprised that it is only rated as 4Star. The ambiance is 'olde worlde' but comfort is excellent. the only suggestion we have made to the staff is that the room lighting could be improved, as reading in bed was difficult. charges for meals might be considered a little too high, but i think they reflect the high standard of service and attention to detail. overall we were very pleased, so much so that we atayed an extra night!
“beautiful hotel in a charming village- a must!”
just loved every minute of our stay! The staff were so welcoming/ the room was cosy)/ the lounge areas were inviting/ breakfast was plentiful and service excellent. We have fallen in love with Broadway and visit this lovely village about 3 times a year- cannot wait to return!
“A luxurious treat!”
Beautiful hotel full of history and character in picturesque surroundings. Lovely open fires and comfortable seating make for a pleasant afternoon or evening drink from the bar. The restaruant staff are meticulous in meeting your every need and the food is absolutely perfect. It is on the expensive side but worth it for a treat!
“Lygon Arms Hotel, Broadway, Cotswolds”
Hotel room quality depends on whether in new (rear)or old (front)part of hotel. Ours was in the old part and we had to access it via the dining room which was a tad awkward with suitcases in tow. The room was smallish and ensuite with a double aspect front view onto Broadway High Street which was very nice. The room really needed to be updated but was clean and comfortable, although the bed was a bit too firm. The Brasserie served up a delicious Fish and Chip special which was the best we had ever tasted and good value at £11.50 for 2 courses. The Main restaurant was extra special but a bit pricey, although the breakfast was served here and was excellent. The bars are very atmospheric and olde worlde, a lovely place to enjoy your drink. Staff generally very well trained and helpful. Would recommend this hotel for a refined stay for adults. We enjoyed our stay here.
“Lovely old world hotel, great service”
Pleasant stay although the mattress seemed defective in room 5.
“romantic hotel”
as it was our anniversary- we were upgraded to the thatched cottage in the walled garden which was lovely and were given a complimentary drink, chocolates and a card on arrival.the hotel itself is charming and has a lovely atmosphere- however it would have been nice to have lit fires as it was quite chilly outside.we used the spa which was great but did not use the restauraunt as we found it quite expensive and formal. the staff were excellent and we cannot wait to return in the near future,
