Wonderful relaxing stay. Very friendly staff, excellent food with plenty of choice (restaurant or bar), two log fires with board games or newspapers providing a good excuse to spend time in front of them.
One minor gripe - being served smoked bacon at breakfast when the menu did not specify but that was quickly resolved for subsequent days.

The Hotel doesnt look much from the outside, but inside its very well furnished, comfortable and with the Best Spa/Sauna etc. I have ever seen.
The room was very clean and comfortable and the Bathroom was superb.
My only critisism would be the Restaurant, the food was no doubt very good, but rather sophisiticated for my tastes as a solo business traveller, my suggestion to them would be to have at least one or two simple dishes on the menu, such as a steak, chicken etc.
Overall an excellent stay.

Good welcome from lady in reception, room as described but starting to look tired. Bed on soft side but bedding clean and changed during our stay (5 nights). Car parking more than adequate and close to rooms. We did not dine at hotel on first 2 nights - OUR LOSS! On 3rd night we were too tired to go out and tried the restaurant it was one of the best dining we have had anywhere in Britain. The first rate food was served by excellent staff and we were only too happy to return on our other 2 nights inviting two friends to join us on our last evening. They too were impressed by the quality of food and service. In recent years we have dined in a range of restaurants world wide and this matches any for value and good eating.
