Well at the outset this hotel promises much, the reality is lacking. Staff were very disengaged and often too busy scrolling on their phones to pay any attention or give any sense of hospitality. The room was clean but tired decor, with bits of rust in the bathroom, limited plugs, and switched that didn't work. The pool was decent for what we needed, though limited times to swim with children was unnecessary. The steam room was not particularly clean, gripped the edges and lifted a line of sludge. Chose not to eat or have breakfast as the additional cost was close to half the cost of the room for the duration of our stay. Perhaps an ideal business location but not the most rested location with bright lights outside each window.

Lovely rural feeling property, large room, pool facility great overall and for children, could do with a deep clean in some areas. Food was very satisfactory for the price for breakfast, would definitely return.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for a 2 night weekend spa break. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you could need. The room was cosy and the bed was very big and comfortable. The room in itself was very clean and we had a lovely view of the golf course. Can’t comment on the restaurant/ bar as we drove into Redditch and had food there as all hotel options were quite pricey. We used the gym and the spa facilities which were all excellent. The staff were very friendly and always made the effort to speak to us. The only negative thing from this stay was the cleanliness of the female changing rooms by the pool. I fully appreciate this is a female changing room, and women’s hair does malt… a lot. However there was clumps of hair all over the floor through the whole room and the floor was quite dirty. I advise you bring flip flops! One day, all the showers had all run out of shower gel and at one point I went into the shower cubicle and there was a used female sanitary product stuck to the shower wall (I understand this is not the hotel’s fault and was the fault of whoever left it there) but did not contribute to a hygienic feel. As well as this, many of the free lockers in the changing room didn’t work/lock which other women were complaining about whilst trying to find an empty one. I would recommend this hotel as the good outweighs the bad. We did enjoy ourselves however if I were to return I would definitely bring flip flops for the pool area.

Hotel stay and spa use
Stayed in family room, 23. Room in need of an update but it was clean, comfy and spacious. Nice big modern TV on wall. Our room was close to the spa which we liked. The gym was very busy as open to members too. Spa Facilities were good although changing rooms needed a clean and refurb. There was a water aerobics class in the pool 6.15-7pm during our stay, it would have been nice to have been informed about this when we enquired about our use of the spa facilities, so we could work our visit to the spa around this as the pool couldn’t be used for 45mins and the music was loud (which we liked, but some people may not) The food in the restaurant was beautiful, came out piping hot, good portions and full of flavour. We did not have breakfast as had to leave early the next day.

So disappointed
Disappointing is putting it mild! Communal areas well decorated HOWEVER both family rooms that we were offered (as we complained about the initial room and just put up with the second room we were offered) shocking for a 4 star hotel. Black mold around windows, stains on the carpet, bed and walls, poorly fitted sockets, iron with a burnt surface, eye burning UV blue light in bathroom, unusable TV for first night (a staff member thought it was appropriate to spend almost 40mins in our room at 930pm at night trying to fix it) only to be told, maintenance would be on site at 730am, once he realised he couldn’t fix it. Restaurant food a no better than pub food so much so that we tried the Marstons pub down the road which was 100% better Would we stay again…NO!

Booked this stay for my partners birthday, and had an unfortunate stay, firstly the showers weren’t hot when the weather was horrific (floods, pouring down rain). So we wanted to warm up and the showers were Luke warm. Then when going down for dinner we ordered a chicken skewer starter and it was very basic and bland with some what tasted like stale noodles. I then ordered a crispy chicken burger and had got a naan bread inside a burger bun, for the waitress To just laugh about it and said that’s not right , it was then taken back as she said the chicken was just on the side. We then got back to the room to find a horrible noise coming from the radiator, the receptionist gave us a key yo another room , however it was very disturbing having to pack our bags at 12:00pm to move rooms due to a noise issue. Such a shame as been before and that’s why we came back but unfortunately we don’t be returning as we felt very unsettled/disturbed.

We will stay here next time we are at the NEC
Clean and spacious room, good wifi and ample parking. Spa was very clean with nice and warm jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Perfect after a busy day and an easy drive to the NEC.

We stayed here for two nights as part of a large wedding party, in an executive room. Our overall impression was that the hotel is pretty tired and well overdue an update and refresh. Being there on the hottest day of the year in September didn't help - there is no air conditioning and the ceiling fan was so slow it didn't have much effect. The room wasn't exactly dirty, it just felt as though it had only been cleaned to a bare minimum, with no attention paid to details (a big cobweb in the corner, for example). The room was really big, with a bath and a shower, but the shower was super small without much space to move around properly. All staff members I encountered were very friendly and helpful, although seemed like there should have been a few more around at busy times like breakfast.

The grounds were nice, the bar facilities fine. Staff were polite and helpful. The hotel generally is in need of refurbishment. Our “superior “ double room was spacious but the bathroom was in a poor state. The small triangular shower unit was in a dreadful state. The glass door didn’t fit properly which had resulted in corrosion at the bottom and a shoddy attempt at re-sealing it. It also smelt mouldy. The door around the handle was filthy and the bath panel had stains on it. No handbook with instructions for tv, hotel facilities , ceiling fan (which was poor.)

Room needed a good clean. Dust on lamps, phone, glasses in bathroom not clean. Bath robe had a black mark on. Not good. Very very warm, needs air conditioning. Overall just needs a refurb, and better house keeping checks. Pillows like cardboard. A shame as the setting is lovely, and the staff are nice. Just needs more attention to detail

Hotel was ok apart from being hotter than the sun in the rooms, and the hotel. No air conditioning and only one tiny window opened in my room. Pillows were like cardboard and the plumbing kept me awake all night. I wouldn’t recommend sadly, a shame. The decor looks nice in pictures but is very shabby in places. My shower for example had a crack in the shower tray and the shower head wouldn’t stay angled where I wanted it to. I picked the problems up with reception to advise them to correct for the future

OK Hotel, just.
Nice enough place, mainly golfing visitors with some families. The rooms need some interior updates, the pool changing rooms are a bit dated with broken lockers etc. The rooms have poor sound insulation and can hear people in corridors, people in other rooms boiling kettles, babies crying. Windows could do with cleaning off the black mould from the condensation. Sports bar at Terrace may be a place to take kids if you want to watch a football match, but if populated by golfers there was a lot of swearing, which is not acceptable. The meal here also left me with a stomach ache. Breakfast was quite noisy and not much room to manouver between tables and chairs, which is critical if people are moving around with plates and hot drinks. Other than this, generally OK, but I wouldn't revisit nor recommend.

Needs a good clean and decorating
On arrival the reception staff where lovely, the room however was not. It was dirty, tired and strained. Breakfast however was lovely.

We have a 9 month old child and it was disappointing to see him crawling around and picking up all sorts from the room carpet. It really let the hotel down, the staff were all friendly and efficient. Maybe some new hoovers or actually hoovering the room would be a good idea. Other than that the stay met our needs.

The room was lovely, perfect for our family with a large super king, a single bed and double sofa bed. The room was very clean and well kept. The staff at the hotel were all lovely, friendly and very welcoming. We particularly enjoyed the pool area, nice changing facilities, and the pool was a good temperature with plenty of seating around too. Breakfast was included in our room so it was fine. I'm not sure I'd pay the amount asked for the breakfast if it wasn't included in the room. We felt the hot food wasn't of a high standard, our children didn't like the sausages and the eggs were a bit hard. It's a shame that the hot breakfast wasn't cooked to order as in other similar hotels of this standard we've stayed in. The other breakfast options that were available were nice. As said before all the staff were great and we enjoyed our few days stay. We'd definitely look out for this hotel if we were coming this way again.
