Wonderland Pier isrun by the legendary Gillian family, who have been in the local amusement parkbusiness since the 1920s. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier features over 35 rides andattractions, both indoors and outdoors, and the selection is a mix oftraditional 20th-century entertainment and modern, more extreme rides.
To start your daygently and to get your bearings, take a ride on the Giant Wheel, the tallFerris wheel. The Log Flume is another great option for those with youngchildren. Embark on the Alien Abduction ride, or the Airborne Shot, for anexperience that will get your heart pumping. Bumper cars, miniature golf andcarousels are great fun too.
Food and drinks areavailable throughout the park from carnival vendors, and there are children’smenus at all establishments.
Gillian’s WonderlandPier is located on the boardwalk in Ocean City, about 11 miles (18 kilometres)south of Atlantic City. If you are travelling by car, there is pay parking inthe area, but spaces can be hard to find. Buses from Atlantic City also servicethe area.
Wonderland Pier isfree to enter, but rides operate on a pay-as-you-go system. Purchase tickets inbulk to save money. You can get half-priced tickets during the annual Eastersale. There are height restrictions that exclude young children.
WonderlandPier is open daily and at nights throughout summer. For the rest of the year,there are reduced opening times and days check the schedule on the website inadvance.
