Great hotel and room configuration.

Posted 02-Jan-2015
Pros: Location, room configuration, breakfast was all wonderful.
Cons: Luggage carts being available.
Location: Walking distance to great restaurants and bars.
Hotel is in an excellent location. Breakfast each morning was great and manager's reception was very nice. Staff was very nice and helpful. Two bedroom two bath configuration was perfect. Bathrooms were a bit outdated and in need of repair but everything was sufficient. Only negative was at check out the hotel did not have any luggage carts available and stated they only had one available and they didn't know where that was. They offered a porter's assistance but that really did not help since we still needed to make several trips.

Very convenient for conventions

Posted 13-Nov-2014
Pros: The cleanliness, comfort, and friendly staff. Also the convenient location.
Cons: I really can't think of anything....
Location: Walking distance to many comfortable, casual restaurants that were well-priced with excellent food. We even found a little Art Gallery district.
As with all Embassy Suites, the rooms are spacious to the point of being cavernous... kitchen area, comfortable sitting area and bedroom, and a bathroom large enough for a dance marathon. Some, of the furniture in my sitting area was a little tired, but a pleasant maintenance man told me with great pride that lots of furniture upgrades were on the horizon, and mine was one of the next floors slated for the upgrade. The staff was delightful, and not just the staff that you think of as customer-service-oriented. I could not pass a member of the staff in the hall without receiving a personal greeting. This includes maintenance men, valets, housekeepers, kitchen staff...everybody. The experience was topped off by the included breakfast service and evening reception, and not just a simple, cold continental breakfast, but a full hot buffet. I would be delight to stay here again.

Enjoyed the suite when traveling with family. Nice hotel overall. Didn't like the sliding glass door opening into the atrium on the ground floor. Heard people at 4 am.

Middle of the road

Room had smell of cigarette smoke, asked front desk but said while there were 4 smoking rooms, it wasnt one. Valet and bellman were great. Parking was a bit expensive conaidering cost of hotel, think about all inclusive pricing for guests.

Overrated, overpriced, and over neglected

Posted 12-Oct-2014
Pros: The restaurant, while limited, is reasonable good.
Cons: The hotel needs to be updated; the artificial plants cleaned or replaced, and hotel staff empowered to handle complaints/requests.
Location: The arts district and convention center are within walking distance. This is a very attractive location...except for the sirens!
Embassy should be a name that visitors can rely on, but in this case a significant amount of caution should be considered. First, the hotel is in need of updating. From the dusty and artificial plants, to elevators in need of repair to rooms outdated and not particularly clean (broken glass in the carpet!), this hotel is not in good shape. Then, there is the noise level. Not from guests, but from traffic, sirens, and the general populace around the hotel. Sirens in the middle of the night sound as though they are right underneath the room. Housekeeping does not arrive until after 4 in the afternoon, and how many hotels have you been in where toilet tissue and facial tissue are in shortage (we ran out the last day)? The staff, while pleasant, cannot get housekeeping to handle requests (although we saw a maid talking on her cell phone instead of cleaning). While the location is desirable (near the convention center and arts district), the other factors mitigate such things. If you find you must stay there, I strongly advise requesting a room inside the hotel, and not facing outside.
