3 alarm fire drill

Posted 26-Mar-2015
Pros: When I checked out…I felt relieved.
Cons: Sell it to Holiday inn.
Location: See above.
Want peace and quite? Do not stay here… Noisy as a 3 Alarm Fire Drill… Downtown with police cars, fire engines, traffic noise, blaring horns….all night long…...you get the drift… NEVER would stay here again….Felt like I was in the HOOD when we went out for dinner… Whole hotel felt outdated….dark interior, 1980 carpet patterns, mold in the bathroom, just felt old and creepy. Stay outside of downtown… less expensive and way more comfortable.

Nice hotel, friendly staff

Posted 26-Mar-2015
Spent one night while on college campus visits. Nice hotel and conveniently located downtown. Friendly staff for evening happy hour and morning breakfast. Room was quiet and spacious. Next time I return to Winston-Salem area, I would return to this hotel. Satisfied customer.

Great hotel and room configuration.

Posted 02-Jan-2015
Pros: Location, room configuration, breakfast was all wonderful.
Cons: Luggage carts being available.
Location: Walking distance to great restaurants and bars.
Hotel is in an excellent location. Breakfast each morning was great and manager's reception was very nice. Staff was very nice and helpful. Two bedroom two bath configuration was perfect. Bathrooms were a bit outdated and in need of repair but everything was sufficient. Only negative was at check out the hotel did not have any luggage carts available and stated they only had one available and they didn't know where that was. They offered a porter's assistance but that really did not help since we still needed to make several trips.

Perfect location. Room was better than expected. I didn't realize I was getting a large room. Free breakfast and cocktails were a plus. Fitness center also awesome and parking access very convenient.

This place has slipped

Posted 29-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel is in middle of management transition and it shows. The linens were old and we were actually missing blankets on the beds. My wife had to ask for the, and when they showed up they were old and worn. The staff said they had to go find them from another room. At breakfast everything was out and there was little to no presence of someone checking to refill things like coffe supplies, food, etc. Cleanliness overall was lacking. Just looked worn and unkempt. Front desk staff and valet were very good despite the other issues. Fitness room was excellent.

For MENC conference at Benton Convention Center. The hotel was great, but ran out of toilet paper. I didn't have toilet paper for 2 days/1 night. Other than that, it was great.

Very convenient for conventions

Posted 13-Nov-2014
Pros: The cleanliness, comfort, and friendly staff. Also the convenient location.
Cons: I really can't think of anything....
Location: Walking distance to many comfortable, casual restaurants that were well-priced with excellent food. We even found a little Art Gallery district.
As with all Embassy Suites, the rooms are spacious to the point of being cavernous... kitchen area, comfortable sitting area and bedroom, and a bathroom large enough for a dance marathon. Some, of the furniture in my sitting area was a little tired, but a pleasant maintenance man told me with great pride that lots of furniture upgrades were on the horizon, and mine was one of the next floors slated for the upgrade. The staff was delightful, and not just the staff that you think of as customer-service-oriented. I could not pass a member of the staff in the hall without receiving a personal greeting. This includes maintenance men, valets, housekeepers, kitchen staff...everybody. The experience was topped off by the included breakfast service and evening reception, and not just a simple, cold continental breakfast, but a full hot buffet. I would be delight to stay here again.

not good

Needs a complete overhaul. Tried to order coffee and they said it would be 30 minutes because it had to come from the Marriott across the street!! Really? Not clean enough and overall disappointing.
