It is ok if you are desperate for a place to stay

Posted 31-Jul-2015
Cons: Thin walls
I don't like giving bad reviews, but we were really disappointed in our stay here. The good things about this hotel were the breakfast and the employees. My sons and I were extremely tired after a 12 hour drive from Colorado Springs. We wanted a nice, comfortable hotel and were willing to pay for it. My son saw Best Western PLUS in Winslow and we thought, PERFECT! The hotel from the outside looks like a regular hotel. The lobby was clean and nice. The employee was friendly when I was checking in. Room was clean, except for some hair left on the bathroom floor. We jumped into bed, which was comfy, and that is when it started. The walls were so thin that I could hear our neighbors talking like they were in the room with us. They kept going in and out of the room and we couldn't sleep!! We were desperate. Finally, around midnight, they quieted down so that we could finally fall asleep. At 650 AM, the fire alarm went off and woke us all up. Once that happened, we tried to go back to sleep but our wonderful neighbors started in again. Talking loudly and going in and out. The lady that worked the breakfast place was awesome. I didn't feel the price matched the room in Winslow, AZ. I would think that it should have been VERY nice, especially being a "plus" hotel.

Terribly Smelly Room

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: ...Not much
Cons: It would be great if you could do something about the disgusting odor in room 118.
Location: The only thing we found interesting to do near by was to stand on the corner of Winslow, AZ. We truly were such a fine sight to see.
I booked this hotel because it had the best ratings of any hotel in Winslow. When I pulled up, the place looked nice enough, and the lobby was fine. We were given room 118. The second we walked into the room we were hit by a powerful odor that saturated everything. It smelled like stinky dog (or something similar) to the point that it kinda burned your nose to be in there. I immediately notified the front desk and asked if they could switch us to another room. The young woman at the front desk was nice, but pretty much at a loss for what to do about it. She called her manager, who couldn't offer to change our room or even give us a discount. The best they could offer is to bring in an ionizer machine which basically freshens the air. We declined because those aren't real safe to breathe in closed corridors. Because of the late hour we (my wife, my 2 daughters and I) were forced to stay in the stinky room - and NO we never did get used to the odor...nor were we offered a discount...nor did we receive a refund...or even so much as an apology. The next morning we couldn't get out of there fast enough, and there was ZERO chance that I was going to stick around for breakfast. Of the 5 hotels we stayed at on our road trip, this was BY FAR the worst experience of them all.

A perfectly comfortable overnight stop

Posted 13-Jul-2015
We stayed here for one night on a recent US road trip. The hotel was comfortable, clean and quiet and exactly what we had hoped for based on the price paid. Breakfast was satisfactory and better than many budget hotel chains we have used before. Location means a drive to town for food but that was not a problem for us.

Really the only choice

Posted 27-Jun-2015
The hotel has easy access from interstate 40 and to refuel. Breakfast was good and always plenty of food regardless the time of morning. Room was clean, organized, and generally well kept. Had mixed experiences with the staff. Veteran staff members were helpful and polite. Younger staff were lazy and would not help solve a card reader issue on my door multiple times.

Very clean and new hotel

Posted 11-Jun-2015
We were in town for graduation. The hotel was very clean, the pool looked fun, even though we didn't get in. The breakfast was nice. I liked that we went to breakfast 30 minutes before it was going to end and there was still plenty of food. The only thing that we didn't like was that the hallways were super loud, you can hear everything going on out there in the room (doors slamming shut, dogs, people talking) and everybody there seemed to be up and about super early. Other than that, we wouldn't definitely stay again.

Disappointed

Posted 26-May-2015
Pros: nothing
Cons: Everything
Assumed brand name 'Best Western' would ensure at least a reasonable standard of accommodation and service. Very disappointed. Worst hotel visited (from 14) during 3-week stay in Utah and Arizona.
