The Salutation is not cheap, but for a special occasion is well worth it. The building itself is full of character, the facilities excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. The beautiful gardens are an added bonus.
David the proprieter welcomed us and explained about keys, breakfast etc. The room was prettily decorated and overlooked the garden - bright and clean. We stayed for two nights. Self-serve Continental breakfast was a good idea making our stay relaxed and without any pressure.

"Superb B&B in Kent; great location for long walks"
2 nights in April 2014.
Golden room very well tended. Extremely sympathetic hosts Sandy and Peter. Memorable breakfast and remarkable dinner recommendations.
Would recommend to anyone I truly care for who's looking for a place to remember their weekend in Kent forever.

Was at a wedding in Whitstable, decided to stay out of town in Barham, and what a pretty little village it is.
Our room was comfortable with nice en suite and a comfy bed.
We were above the kitchen so we could hear the chef singing downstairs!
Whilst we didn't use it, there's a lovely big beer garden with a big play castle for kids, as well as a few chickens and ducks to look at.
Big screen outside was showing Wimbledon too - nice touch on a sunny day!!
Our only suggestion where they could improve would be to put a light on or around the fire escape which you use to access the hotel after the pub has locked up for the night.
Arrived earlier than planned but room was ready and we had quick access.
Situated in large grounds with good outdoor sitting experiences.
Was close to Canterbury City Centre and were provided with a City Centre map by staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sun Hotel, we were welcomed warmly and our room was beautiful, clean and quiet. The free breakfast was delicious, the service commendable and I would stay again. We were minutes away from Canterbury's restaurants, shops and supermarkets, and a ten minute walk from the station.
