My wife and I recently stayed for a one night short break and can say if small, personal family service is what you like, you won't go wrong here. We were welcomed in the lounge by Caroline who, after a little form filling, showed us around our room (Bowness) . The room was very comfortable and quiet and well equipped, although the tv receiver wouldn't get ITV1 whilst we're dressing for evening dinner. Not a problem for us however as we were only trying to catch up on news. We booked evening dinner and chose the 3 course. A fantastic decision, with excellently cooked portions. Personal service from Jonathan and the staff was excellent throughout with just the right amount of time between courses. The atmosphere was relaxed as we shared the dining room with 5 other couples, each of which received equally attentive service. Although we only stayed one night we both left wishing it had been longer. If you want somewhere that is small, personal and excellent value then Cedar Manor is a little gem.
( Can we also congratulate Caroline on recently raising over £3000 for Lupus charity by running the Great North Run. My wife has Lupus so well done Caroline on behalf of sufferers everywhere)

Great location and very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent breakfast. Beds are big and rooms spacious. Toiletries are adequate - I'd recommend bringing your own from home! All in all a lovely place to stay while in the Lakes.

met up with close friend, we do this once a year, this was by far the best hotel we have had so far, comfortable and we chatted after our meal, in a comfortable setting. loved the walk the next morning to the tarn. what we both needed after a hard, year. will take hubby here, hed love it. thanks it was special
We were on the first floor with a lovely view over the gardens and glimpses of the lake. About 5 minute drive out of town but this is probably a plus in busy holiday periods. Full breakfast included in the rate and free parking and Wi Fi meant it was extremely good value. Room was fairly large.

Fantastic experience. Location is exceptional with great views over the lake and a great overall base to explore Windermere and surrounds. The rooms are tastefully designed and fully-equipped with everything you'd expect of a top hotel. A special thanks to the gentleman (I believe it's Thomas?) for being very accommodating in finding us room at the restaurant despite not booking in advance and generally making us feel very welcome throughout our short but enjoyable stay.

Great place to stay, Friendly owners, Free Parking. This hotel met all my expectations except for the cramped up bathroom. Other than that it is awesome. Oh there are free cookies that you can munch each time you head out of the house. The cookies are really good, so good that I finished up the peanut butter cookie on the first night. Oops.

Took my wife for our 35th wedding anniversary, upon arrival we were greeted with tea, coffee & biscuits, local restaurants were recommended and Denise the owner made a reservation for us that evening. Our room had a four poster bed and each day had fresh clean towels and his and hers dressing gowns laid out. The breakfast menu catered for all tastes including vegetarian and was all home cooked. I would definately give it a 5 star rating and look forward to staying there again.
We stayed midweek - Monday night through to Friday morning. The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful and the food was first class, with sensible choices of wines with each course. The room was very comfortable and the wifi worked well throughout the hotel (no O2 signal though, so mobile phone calls were not possible, thankfully). The location is well placed for exploring the area - we shall definitely go back there when we are next in the Lake District.
