We had a great weekend staying at Orchard House. We arrived as guests but Tiggy & Pete welcomed us into their home as they would friends. After a full day at IWM Duxford, they invited us to share a barbeque with them that evening (good food, great company and an amazing whisky collection), it was a brilliant way to end to the day.
Lovely and friendly staff!
The staff where really welcoming and very helpful during our stay.
They were very flexible what what you wanted cooked breakfast wise and there was always plenty to eat.
The hotel was really easy to find off the A505 and was just the right distance for our stay from the places we needed to get to.
We were disappointed that the hotel was listed as having Wifi but could only pick this up in the bar and not in our room or in the restaurant area and as we were not in a great signal area sitting in the bar was then our only options for getting out where to go for dinner or day out trips. Which of course the staff didn't mind but would of been nice to be able to receive the WiFi in our room.
Lastly the room was a little on the small size and I would say that the double was a very small double as we both felt squeezed in. (Please note we only have a double at home ourselves.)

We booked 9 rooms and all clean. Whilst the hotel was dated in places without a doubt, for the price and the purpose of just using it as a base to get ready at and then back to sleep it's absolutely fine. Even the complimentary breakfast was good. The staff were all incredibly helpful particularly the two receptionists - even bothering to call us to say we'd left something behind in one of the rooms they could post to us if we wanted them to. Really great.
We just needed a place to sleep that was convenient for a series of meetings and this met every requirement. Only thing missing was a village pub in walking distance but some great pubs in Baldock, which is close by
We only had an overnight stay, and could not fault anything, except the price of the breakfast (which we did not have) at £16.95. The room was very good, spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. The grounds are beautiful, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at the function we we attending, which was the purpose of our stay.
