Lovely hotel

Posted 25-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
New owners were delightful, full of beans and eager to please. Food was lovely although served on a board...plates would be fine! Easy menu and lovely environment created in restaurant. Room was nice, had all you needed. Struggled with bathroom as cold tap ran hot and shower was attached to taps so couldn't stand and wash hair as you had to hold shower head. As a business traveller you do expect to be able to do simple things like wash your hair simply and quickly and this just made getting the temperature a mare and it would have taken too long. Very clean. The location was peaceful and pretty and very convenient to get to Bath.

Back in time

It was rather a quaint hotel and luckily for us we were in the oldest part of the Hotel. The room was typical of an oldie worldie building and the staff were lovely. We had a nicely cooked breakfast each morning and the price was quite reasonable.

Lovely 1 night stay

Myself and my wife stayed here for 1 night while visiting Bath. It is in a lovely area of England, 20minutes drive from Bath. The room was lovely and breakfast was good. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Would stay here again if we were back in this area.

Had to wait over 2hgrs for the room to be cleaned and the 1st contact with staff when we arrived was not informative. Hotel cleanliness was below standard and attention to detail required, the bed was uncomfortable and too short and the standard of the shower / bath was old and in need of refubrishment, overall disappointing standards for the nightly rate of £100.

This was a lovely hotel!! Our room was in a separate building, which was charming with climbing roses before and over the door. The room was large with a great bathroom. My son would forget to duck going from the bedroom to the bathroom and would clunk his head (and he's only 6'1"). The main hotel had a lovely dining room with excellent food. The dining room was intimate and accommodated about 8 tables- 2 waitresses were sufficient. As we looked out the bedroom window, the view was bucolic with grass and trees. This was by far my favorite hotel!

Our short stay at the Old Manor

The Old Manor Hotel was very quaint and cosy and we felt at home. Staff were very friendly. They served homemade preserves at breakfast. The breakfast and service was excellent.

We arrived late, but Chris the owner made us feel welcome and even re-opened the bar just for us to have a relaxing drink, then made us a sandwich . A lovely place , quality throughout, really friendly staff and although we didnt have dinner, the menu looked mouthwatering. Breakfast was superb, and you can even purchase home made jams and preserves.A lovely rural setting within easy distance to Bristol, and 5 mins away from Bradfor on Avon.We will be going back next time we are in the area.

The Old Manor Hotel Wiltshire

Posted 12-Apr-2012 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay overall as the staff were pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast was adequate but small ~ plenty of toast though! The restaurant's menu was not detailed enough to make a decision as to whether the prices were justified; the surroundings were cosy and comfortable to eat. However the room's front door outside light was on all night and the water to bath/shower was cold in the morning (early before breakfast). It was a quiet and tranquil stay and felt rested.
