Food incredible! Rooms could do with some TLC

Posted 03-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com
Perfect for what we wanted - A night away near longleat, good food and warm atmosphere! We asked for a different room as the one we booked was in desperate need of updating and the mattress was pure springs! But the landlord swapped us without any hesitation or fuss! New room was much better, very cosy, homely and the bed was far better! We had food and a few drinks in the bar - Food was extremely good! Breakfast again was excellent! Staff and landlord extremely friendly and welcoming. Thank you

Angel Inn - Hindon

Ihana, ihana, ihana. Mitä idylisin pikku majatalo mitä idyllisimmässä pikkukylässä Englannin maaseudulla. Rauhallista ja kaunista. Mitä ystävällisin palvelu, mutta ei tungetteleva eikä tuputtava. The most lovely little Inn in the most lovely little village. The most friendly and considerate staff. Just what we were looking for.

Nice hotel in a lovely setting

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: The character of the building and the food. The staff were friendly too.
Cons: I'd like to see a shower over the bath and maybe the room decoration could be freshened up a bit.
Location: Lovely little village. I was on business so I didn't get to see a lot but I did get out for a walk in the countryside and the scenery is beautiful.
The room was really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a very old building so the floors were a bit uneven but I like that sort of character in a place. I ate in the pub and the food was vey good indeed, I would certainly recommend it. The only down side was the fact that there was only a bath and I prefer a shower in the morning. There was also some paint peeling off the walls but these were really very minor niggles.

Quaint village hotel

Posted 24-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
Well...lovely location, good food at both breakfasts and dinners. Room (the Partridge) was quaint with a fireplace and was a good size. Bathroom, however, was a bit of a disaster - wallpaper was peeling off of wall, large bugs coming from wallpaper folds (had me screaming for help!), numerous cobwebs hanging down from ceiling of bathroom...what can I say! If major maintenance was done to this bathroom and appropriate cleaning on a regular basis, it would be a great place and worthy of the rating. Not yet, unfortunately.

Nice country village pub.

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Nice friendly staff.
Cons: Shower was inadequate as there was no curtain and just a handheld shower head in the bath with poor temperature control.
Location: Set in a nice little english village with friendly locals who were happy to chat. Nice local walk around village streets and allotments.
Nice pub set in a pretty little village. Friendly helpful staff, good food and generally great service. Our upstairs room was spacious and had good views out onto a sunny paved outdoor seating and drinks area. Wireless Internet access was good and made posting photos to facebook on our smartphones a breeze.
