Nice hotel in a lovely setting

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Pros: The character of the building and the food. The staff were friendly too.
Cons: I'd like to see a shower over the bath and maybe the room decoration could be freshened up a bit.
Location: Lovely little village. I was on business so I didn't get to see a lot but I did get out for a walk in the countryside and the scenery is beautiful.
The room was really nice and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a very old building so the floors were a bit uneven but I like that sort of character in a place. I ate in the pub and the food was vey good indeed, I would certainly recommend it. The only down side was the fact that there was only a bath and I prefer a shower in the morning. There was also some paint peeling off the walls but these were really very minor niggles.

Nice country village pub.

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: Nice friendly staff.
Cons: Shower was inadequate as there was no curtain and just a handheld shower head in the bath with poor temperature control.
Location: Set in a nice little english village with friendly locals who were happy to chat. Nice local walk around village streets and allotments.
Nice pub set in a pretty little village. Friendly helpful staff, good food and generally great service. Our upstairs room was spacious and had good views out onto a sunny paved outdoor seating and drinks area. Wireless Internet access was good and made posting photos to facebook on our smartphones a breeze.

Overall disappointing

Posted 03-Dec-2013
Pros: Location
Cons: A deal of attention to the small things like a modern TV
Location: Lovely village location surrounded by beautiful countryside and near to Salisbury.
No hairdryer in room, pathetic T.V. in room labelled Teal, mattress hard, summer duvet in winter? Dinner OK but breakfast was disappointing.

Dog

Everything was great - food, service and room. Shower was a little tempremental - though small price to pay for the overall ambiance of the building. No extra charge for our dog and he was treated like a prince. Would recommend it to all!

Great for mini-breaks

Pros: Bed was comfy and crisp-clean linen.
Cons: Tea-making facilities. Kettles are under a fiver in Tesco's Advise - take your own kettle !
Location: Beautiful and quiet part of the countryside. Well recommended.
Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were excellent and set us up for the day.
