This gorgeous manor and its cottages on well-manicured grounds are perfectly suited for a quiet yet pampered getaway to one of the most picturesque regions of the Cotswalds. The village of Castle Combe (right outside the manor's gate) is an easy stroll among well preserved homes and a cathedral dating back to the 13th century. The staff is attentive and the quality at the manor is nothing short of world-class. We stayed in one of the cottages which was well-appointed and included a very large master bathroom. This place takes you back several centuries, and does so in style. Other well-known attractions are not too far away such as Stonehenge, Bath, etc. but there are also plenty of lesser-known destinations throughout Wiltshire for those bent on exploring away from conventional "tourist traps". All in all, we had a great time, even despite the constant rains of November. The fireplaces in the lobby and bar are perfect for warming up and relaxing with a well-prepared drink, or two, at the end of the day. Highly recommend!
I have visited this hotel twice and consider it good value given the cost and facilities. All the staff are friendly, helpful and ready to do just that bit extra that makes you feel welcome. Food is well prepared and presented, and uses quality local ingredients. Some rooms may be just starting to look a little frayed at the edges but overall it is a good place to stay.

This hotel is well-placed for access to all routes to North and South Cotswolds, An excellent breakfast buffet, and good value dining rates. First class staff - polite and courteous - who dealt competently with our complaint with Expedia.
I stayed for one night and the atmosphere in and around the hotel was very relaxing. The staff were also friendly and very helpful - for example I ordered food but had to go out for an hour and the front desk were more than willing to accept the order on my behalf and hold it until my return. This made my evening of work less stressful and I appreciate the extra effort. I will be working in the area a few more time in the next 6 months and will definitely book again.
Bowood Hall is a lovely place to stay. My fiancee and I had a relaxing stay. Staff were friendly and facilities are very good. Our only bug-bear was that the pilliows were uncomfortable which made a restless night for us both. But breakfast made up for it! Will definitely stay there again, but will probably bring our own pillows ;-)
I heard about this hotel from my sister many years ago.
While planning a short break away from the mess of a house rewire it was very relaxing to stay in such a pleasant welcoming hotel. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for the personal touch and attentive staff
It was marvellous to stay at the hotel. We had dinner the evening of our stay in the restaurant and the food was delicious and although pricey, the portion sizes we generous. Our room was upgraded and the night was peaceful. Breakfast in the morning was again wonderful and we would definitely recommend this hotel to couples wanting to celebrate a special occasion. Although the concierge apologised, the condition of the hotel was not 'superb' because they were refurbishing the furnishings.

We stayed at the hotel prior to a family funeral, very sad circumstances. We had an evening meal which consisted of the best sirloin steak the 4 of us had ever tasted. The breakfast was also of a very high standard.
The beds were very comfortable and the shower was excellent.
