“I wish all Hotels were up to the same standard as the Grasmere”
Really nice to find a hotel that still can give you the comfort and cleanliness with that old worldly charm. The grounds and general outlook of this Hotel is second to none
“Excellent”
Excellent experience and very friendly staff.
“Charming Hotel, friendly service”
Quiet in the winter when we were there, very pleasant accomodation, attentive service, and a convenient walk through the town, for Salisbury Cathedral. Also good for a base for touring, e.g. to Bournemouth.
“Salisbury,Grasmere House”
Excellent location, very nice gardens, Clean, good room size, Friendly staff, Delicious breakfast; I entirely recommend it. The only thing I didn't like was the mattress because it was very soft.
“Lovely Location.”
The Grasemere is in a lovely location set in beautiful gardens that go down to the river & have views of the Cathedral. The breakfast was excellent & set us up very well for the day. Salisbury Town Centre is really nice & about 10-15 min stroll away from the Hotel. The only downsides to our stay was that our room overlooked the carpark & not the lovely gardens at the back, however the room was very large with plenty of storage space, the Hotel is also looking a little bit tired in places & could do with some updating, but we would definitely stay again.
“A relaxing stay”
We chose the Grasmere House Hotel because of it's location and easy access to the centre of Salisbury. We had just spent a hectic few days at Legoland Windsor and wanted somewhere to relax, to see the sights of Salisbury before heading off for a weeks holiday in Cornwall. The Grasmere House Hotel wasn't cheap but it was located on the southern side of Salisbury within walking distance of the centre and it had ample secure car parking in its grounds. The hotel is a lovely country house with sweeping gardens down to the river with beautiful views, over open countryside to the cathedral. We booked a family room for my wife and I and our 2 kids aged 9 and 5, the room was very large and comfortable with an ensuite wet room, very smart. There was a small bar and a guest living room to relax in. Breakfast was buffet style with ample choices and plenty of it, held in the conservatory overlooking the gardens. We didn't take evening meals in the hotel as we wanted to sample the sights of Salisbury but the menu looked very nice. The staff were friendly and polite and overall we had a very pleasant couple of days. One of the good things for me was the location, just being able to leave the car and walk into Salisbury along riverside footpaths and the old city walls. A lovely country house with a relaxed atmosphere, would highly recommend.
“Good location, wonderful views and helpful staff”
The hotel needs some updating but it's very clean and the location is great. Don't miss out the lovely views of the cathedral from the hotel's garden. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is generous. The hotel is a walking distance from city centre and it’s great value for money. I definitely recommend it.
“Would stay again”
A good place to stay, car parking onsite and a short walk into the centre. Breakfast not that great.
“Hotel adequate for our needs”
Hotel is ideally situated, just a short 15 minute walk to the cathedral. Hotel was adequate, decor was a bit tired and needed a lick of paint. The Saturday night was noisy as our room was directly above the function room and music was played loudly into the early hours. Breakfast was good. I got a good deal with Expedia, I wouldn't have wanted to pay the full asking price for this hotel; the price reflected it's quality.
“Satis. for overnight stay”
Hotel is "tired", needs upgrading. Bar facilities poor, dining room uninviting although food satisfactory Good position for cathedral + shops Reasonable value
