Spartan hotel on I-95.

Posted 21-May-2015
Pros: Location and the fact that they take pets.
Be forewarned that your room rate does NOT include a hair dryer or a coffee pot, let alone a refrigerator or a microwave. For any of these "amenities" you must pay to upgrade your room (and rate, of course). Rooms are very basic and extremely small, but clean.

Attending a Conference

Posted 23-Apr-2015
When I checked into my room it had a strong ammonia smell. It was hard to breathe. I got a different with a "less strong" smell. Running the A/C seemed to help. Bed was ok but not the most comfortable. As they say: "you get what you pay for."

Lower your expectations

Posted 19-Apr-2015
Pros: Courteous staff and location
Cons: Biggest flaw are room sizes, but you can't change that
Location: I was there for a little R&R away from congestion. Close by is horse racing, casino and mall.
Fortunately I wasn't expecting anything nice. The initial room given was not clean and the size of a closet. I went back to the main desk to request another room. They were pleasant about it and gave me another room. It was night and day. There was nothing special about the room, but it was much cleaner and not a closet. It has been my recent experience to be given a dirty tiny room, only to go back and request another room. I have always been given a better room. I sometimes expect to go through this routine each time I book a mediocre hotel. All in all it was cheap and I didn't have any special problems with the room, surroundings or staff.

They must have been fans of M*A*S*H

Posted 03-Apr-2015
Red Roof Inns are all pretty much the same - this one is a Plus (means it's a bit newer than the 20-year old average for the chain) - beds are comfortable - price is cheap - but there are always a few quirks to each location - the guy that bought the bathroom fan was obviously either a Vietnam Vet or a big fan of M*A*S*H because you get the impression that there is a helicopter landing in your room when you turn on the light - not unusual for RRI's

good room, not so good staff

Posted 02-Apr-2015
Check in clerk needs some customer service training. She was more concerned with her personal conversation with other staff than checking me in. Maid knocked on the door at 7:30 am to clean the room. The room was nice, most red roof inns are nicer than you would expect.

Non-Smoking Room filled with stale smoke smell

Posted 29-Mar-2015
The room was ok but it smelled like a smoke filled bar. We got in too late to switch rooms after driving 7 hours.

Great hotel for a short/overnight stay

Posted 11-Mar-2015
Pros: It's located near the interstate.
Cons: The bathroom was on the small side. I'm pretty small and I thought it was a little hard to move in there. Might be an issue for a bigger person.
Location: There are few restaurants within walking distance. There is a big mall within driving distance as well.
Pretty decent hotel for the price I paid. It's good for a short stay or if you just need a place to sleep overnight while going up or down the 95 interstate. The lobby staff was very professional and friendly. The room was clean. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay and will definitely stay there again if I needed to be in that area.

Last Minute Check In

Posted 23-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
We stopped here on our way down to DC from New England. The room was simple, but clean. The price was great. On first check in the woman at the front desk was very pleasant. The room she gave us smelled of smoke and when we called down to the desk she immediately moved us to another room. Overall the service was great.
