We actually loved the hotel & staff. Our issue was the beds. We were in room 315 and the beds were so hard & uncomfortable, that now of could hardly sleep. ☹

Just ok
Pros - bed was comfortable, location, room was clean, the cleaning crew was great!
Cons - air conditioner was SO LOUD, my husband was given a really hard time about not wearing a mask even though he explained he couldn't wear one while wearing his hearing aids, the breakfast was so-so, our room was very small.

I waited over 10 min for someone to show up at the front desk to check me in. There was a sign on the counter saying I am away from the desk bc I am helping a guest. Meanwhile when the staff member showed up she reeked of tobacco so clearly she was not helping a customer.

We apologize for this unfortunate experience. There are times our agents have to step away from the desk to assist guests, however we do not allow smoke breaks while on the clock. We do appreciate you bringing this to management's attention and we will be investigating this matter further.
Loved the room...great price..only about 10min walk to beach....the scenery around is good....the walk not as bad as I thought it would b....grab and go breakfast could've been a little better...little more options but was good...pool good went in the rain and it was still good....bed is comfortable...bring extra towels or get more for floors with water from pool or beach...refrig. is a freezer only down side..froze everything I put in there..but a good side to drinks for the beach walk...

The facility is very outdated & old. The frig was old & had ice in it that needed to be defrosted. In 2020 there was no microwave! The room had been painted multiple times with remnants of the last paint still there.

The swimming pool was great. Clean and the area was well kept. The staff were very nice and helpful.
The water pressure in the hotel room was very low. The water in the tub drained extremely slowly.

When my family and I got there at 3pm to check in, we waited 20 minutes in the lobby before someone came to check us in only to be told our room was not ready yet. So we left and came back a hour later, received a room on the 3rd floor. When we got to the room the door was wide open which was weird. Walked in the room to find a bathtub full of dirty water that literally all most made my sister throw up. We were told we were given the wrong room after explaining the room issue. We finally got another room about 20 minutes after that. The room smelled weird and was just uncomfortable even for my 8 year old son. So we went eat dinner, went to the beach for a few hours, and came back and checked out around 11pm that night. Ending our vacation early because we were so disgusted by this hotel. I really believe Wyndham Hotels needs to give me and my family a refund or a free stay someone because yesterday was just a horrible experience for me and my 5 other familt members.
This is a pretty decent hotel.My family/I stayed for three nights and it was walking distance to the beach.I just wished my room would’ve had a microwave in it.But I’m definitely going to stay again.

The check in... we arrive 2 hrs early but the made us wait and by 3pm check in time...was a long line and was rush not good specially when you travel with kids and long hrs.
and the AC was really extra noisy...

Our stay was excellent! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Hotel and room were clean. The continental breakfast had a nice selection and they serve S&D coffee which is delicious. Upon recommendation from the front desk crew we were able to get a discount on dinner one evening from the restaurant next door. Only a few blocks from the beach.

We were very disappointed with the hotel. There was sand in the floor from the moment we walked into our room.
They were not providing cleaning services to the room. The sofa bed, considered beds 3 and 4 in the room, was very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel or stay again.

Sand is a huge struggle with most beach hotels, however, we do not want to make guests uncomfortable when choosing to stay with us.The hard flooring is new to us and we have been working hard to ensure that our guests receive a more enjoyable and relaxing stay with us. The room service is explained at check in that the house keepers do not enter the rooms but will provide any services by knocking on all doors, excluding rooms with DNDs, and providing the services then. The front desk is always prepared to provide housekeeping services such as towels and trash as well. If you choose to stay with us again please inform the front desk you would like housekeeping services and we will make sure you get it.
Great hotel, great service! My daughter and I went for a Memorial weekend trip and we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Room was clean and bright. Front desk and other staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location!
Within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Depending on traffic a 3-7 min drive to beach. Definitely would stay again and would definitely recommend!

I understand the covid concern what I did not understand is why there was no coffee pot and coffee in the room. Generally it's sealed pkgs of coffee. Was a big inconvenience needing to leave to get coffee in the mornings. Probably doesn't seem like a big deal but when you pay for lodging at the price charged the little emenities to count. Not speaking I'll of the staff but to the corporation. Also, stopped in to see if had a room available. Was told no. Not only was there a no vacancy sign,but when googled said a room was available. Went back in and the desk clerk said she didn't understand why the app states they had a room that they were fully booked but did have one for us. Rediculous

The heating unit had a musky smell in both rooms that my family an i stayed in also the plumbing was not that great. The toilet bowl would never have water in it. I understand you were renovating but besides replacing the carpet those things also need taken care of. Now i know why they only had a total of 8 rooms rented. I'll not recommend any one to stay there. My family and i was so dissatisfied with the place.

We're so sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with your stay. As you have posted anonymously we have no way to know what room you were in in order to fix any issues. We are not aware of any "heating unit" having odor issues as all of our zonelines have just been professionally cleaned for the season. We are also not aware of any plumbing issues. We do our best to stay on top of all maintenance issues and we do appreciate if any problems are brought to our attention during your stay rather than after in an anonymous review. As this is the off season on Carolina Beach our hotel is quiet, however we certainly have had more than 8 guests staying with us at anytime and we regret that you did not find the peace and quiet enjoyable. The summer season is quickly approaching and the beach will become much busier than what you saw it to be.
We had a very enjoyable stay in Carolina Beach. I made the reservation online at a great rate. When we arrived, we were met by Erin, who was incredibly accommodating. Our checking was smooth and informative. That evening, I needed change and Teresa was so friendly and helpful. We had a delightful conversation. Breakfast was sufficient and we were pleased. The coffee was much better than any typical hotel fare.
Our check out was as smooth as our check in.
After we left, I realized that I had left drink containers in the refrigerator. One call and a turn around and the items were in the office waiting for us.
We highly recommend Microtel Wyndham, Carolina Beach, NC!

The rooms were modern, clean, and very comfortable. The various staff members I interacted with were super helpful, pleasant, and efficient. It's walking distance from shops and restaurants and just a few blocks from the ocean.
The breakfast was decent--not many savory options, though. And we could hear every word from the people in the room next door--not so much a hotel issue, just a thin door between rooms.
Would definitely book this spot again on my next trip!

the room was nice but in a bad spot. the game room is right behind it so you could hear people hitting the wall when the y slide the table or chairs around.

The employees were great!! I wish all the rooms had a microwave and it would've been better if there was a "hot" breakfast. Otherwise, it was a great stay
