Massive room

Posted 03-Nov-2014 on Hotels.com
Massive room for three of us, it slept six!! You could of put two billiard tables in the middle of it. Loads of eateries within walking distance, wallmart over the road is a five minute walk. Staff very good, breakfast included which is the usual standard of continental.

Disappointed in Staff Decision in Emergency

Posted 26-Oct-2014
The hotel was clean, conveniently located for my needs during my stay. However, I had a family emergency come up on Sunday night before checking out on Monday when my 88 year old mother fell and broke her collar bone. I had to move out of the hotel and stay with her due to the pain meds she was on. When I went to the hotel to collect my belongings and asked about a no charge for the room on Sunday night, they said an emphatic "NO". I was shocked they would be so non-feeling or caring about my circumstances.....only that they are paid. It is too bad that there is no empathy in this world any more. It is just about their bottom line.

Big families, try the room with 3 queen beds.

Posted 20-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed in a huge room with three queen beds. It was a little more, but worth it so my teenagers wouldn't have to share a bed. Everything was clean and nice. The breakfast was good and included biscuits & gravy and pumpkin spice waffles. Yum! Thanks to the friendly staff at Wichita Inn Airport.

Unappreciated welcome

Posted 10-Oct-2014 on Hotels.com
Upon arrival, as we checked in the hotel the receptionist seemed a little irritated or snippy. There was no feeling of welcome at all. She was efficient in checking us in. When we got up to our room, We found that we were given a room with double beds when we had reserved a single bed. We went back to the lobby and told the receptionist and within 15 minutes had gotten us a different room. The room was exceptionally clean. The tv had cable channels but no HBO which many hotels offer at the price of this room. Upon check out I mentioned that I was an AARP member and was told that although the hotel did except AARP discounts , that because I made the reservation on line, I wasn't able to receive the discount, a loss of over 20.00 dollars by the same receptionist that checked us in.Being on a fixed income, I felt that was a bit disconcerting. Otherwise our stay alright.

could use improvement

Posted 11-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
this is my moms choice of hotel each trip to Wichita not mine. With this experience my opinion hasn't changed. The location on North Rock is older and looks more run down but the rooms are much nicer and more comfortable. I made my reservation online and since there is no option for smoking or non you have to put it in special request which I did. when arriving to the hotel the very abrupt and rude older lady at the front desk argued with me when I asked if we were for sure in a smoking room. she replied with a "well no!" not if you reserved non smoking hahahah! so I pointed out on the printed application that she had in front of her that is said Smoking Room Please. she said "well I guess, I can give you one but that's not how it work". Really, then how does it work. Either change the way you list rooms on the online site or fix the front desk ability to ready the reservations when received. So after that we got to the room and it was so so. needs updating! looked more like a Motel 6 then a $80 room. the other location is $30 cheaper a night and has new carpet, bedding, linens and better service! The bed was ok but the pillows were like laying your head on a cotton ball..pretty much worthless. Even though we had our do not disturb sign on the door the main knocked at 830am asking if we were checking out. Wont stay here again
