Review of WaterWalk Hotel

Posted 23-Apr-2015
The staff was great and they made you feel at home. The complimentary breakfast was well design. The shuttle bus met my needs when I needed to go somewhere. I really had a good time.

Budget hotel at luxury prices

Posted 23-Apr-2015
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Pick it up, move a few blocks away.
Location: Great restaurant a short walk from the hotel: Café Bel Ami
Average budget hotel décor. But the main warning for this location is that it is mere feet from a busy freeway. If jake brakes and semis thundering pass is your idea of a luxury stay, then this is the spot for you!

The door handle fell off in my hand, screws and all and I thought I would be stuck in the room but I managed to pry open the door and stick my suitcase in there. Also, the room number plate had fallen off and was laying on the ground. Overall the staff were very friendly, the breakfast was great and the room was very nice

Ugh

Dirty, filthy, gross. Curly black hairs in the shower. Soap residue on the counters. Crumbs and hairs on the floors getting on our clothes. Yuck.

Close to Old Town & Intrust Bank Arena.

Great stay. We attended a concert and this hotel was perfect. A bus shuttles anywhere within a 5 mile radius for free - we took it to Old Town. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Nice hotel/location, below average staff/amenities

Posted 04-Apr-2015
I liked everything but the lack of extra pillows and the staff blowing me off. First, it's shocking that the hotel didn't have any extra pillows, but okay. The thing that got me was when I called I was told they'd be right up. After about an hour of waiting I called again and was told they were out of pillows. If you're out so be it. At least tell me that so I'm not waiting up for you. Blowing off patrons would be the wrong answer for future reference.

Girls Night Out

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Pros: The loft suite layout.
Cons: Bathroom
Location: Good location, right next to Kellogg and downtown.
We stayed in one of the loft suites. The room was very clean and roomy. The hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast was very good and offered a big selection.

Best Ever

Posted 07-Mar-2015
Pros: EVERYTHING
Cons: nothing
Location: Perfect for us
We traveled from Canada to South Padre Texas and back and of all the hotels we have stayed at on our first journey south, this is beyond excellent. I would and will recommend this hotel to everyone I know. Please do not change a thing.

Nice hotel, bad room and stay

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Cons: the up keep of the rooms. obvious issues they are ignoring
The hotel is nice and easy to find. The room and stay were much less pleasing. The hotel is very close to the freeway and the room i had was very noisy all night long. There is also a train that goes through downtown several times a night with the horn full blast the entire time. You might hear this from other hotels as well. My room had a few issues. The heater would cycle on and off all night, each time it turned off it let out a loud squeal. The shower didn't work. it had the typical tub/shower set up, but there was no switch or diverted lever to send the water to the head. only a bath was possible. It was obvious that others found issue and had also tried to pull on the controls to see if the shower turned on in a different manner than other shower I have seen. (the controls almost came off the wall as they were missing a few screws to hold them in tack.
