No breakfast!
Breakfast didn't start until nine, despite being told I could get some. The door was looked to the bar, so no way to get any breakfast. Not good for people needing to get to work. I missed breakfast on both mornings. Mattress not good, room basic.

Was surprised by the Waterford. Great food, lovely staff, very comfortable bed, quiet room, great shower, and working central heating (something MANY hotels get wrong!)

North East diamond pub/hotel
A great find just off a fantastic beach on the outskirts of Whitley Bay. Friendly and professional staff team, proper pub/hotel .

This is a lovely old inn overlooking the ocean. Our room was big, bright, and very comfortable with two windows looking out over the ocean and village. The bathroom was a bit tired, but that is to be expected in an old building. The staff were absolutely wonderful! Breakfast isn’t served until 9 and we had to leave by 8, so the chef quickly made us up two breakfast sandwiches for the road.

I have stayed here 3 times now and loved every stay. Staff are so friendly and helpful. We were able to take our little dog who had a great time on the beach which is practically outide the door. The only suggestion i could make to improve the experience is that the bedroom we stayed in needs a bit of redecoration to the ceiling. Apart from that a brilliant, restful break with tasty and delicious menu choices. Thanks guys x

Nice little pub very close to the beautiful beach. Visiting with our dog we were very welcome. Really dog friendly place and we would be happy to go back very soon. Great walks and views!

Good place to stay
Staff were welcoming and helpful. Explained clearly how to get in after hours. They did a packed lunch as we had to leave before breakfast service, packed lunch was high quality.

I was only booked for 1 night breakfast included, I had to leave earlier than when breakfast was served so the staff provided me with some croissants to keep me going. Really nice gesture.

We had to push to 9am breakfast it's not the best for people needing early start and hoping it gets busy so we can return to a 7am start. Thankyou so being so understanding

Had an overnight stay in king size room which was really lovely, great views across the harbour, really comfortable bed and large room. Staff couldn't do enough for us, enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Would recommend and we will stay again.

Hopefully when you do return you will see changes, we have been in 7 weeks now and our aim is to do a big job a week took pub on at a bad time but if we can get through winter and keep making changes and repairs it can only get better. Thankyou your lovely review helps

Hotel was perfect location, food very good and staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel in need of updating but stay was comfortable and perfectly adequate for price paid. The main disappointment for us was that breakfast didn’t start service until 9am on a weekday which just wasn’t suitable for us so we wouldn’t return on that basis.

Great location
Good sized room with a sea view and all amenities. Comfortable double bed, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits. Everywhere was clean if a bit tired. The electric shower was temperamental but usable. The food choices were excellent and well cooked. I can recommend the sea food linguini, it was delicious. We had breakfast both mornings and again the choice was better than we have had in other places we have stayed and freshly cooked to order. On the down side, the pubic areas could do with a refurb as the seating is very worn. I feel I have to say something about the rear exit to the parking, it was dirty an unkempt, did not give a good impression of the place when using to get in or out Three of the beers/largers were off and there was no prosecco on offer. Not sure if there is a stock problem or they had run out. The staff were great, very pleasant and helpfull. Overall we enjoyed our stay but not sure if we would go back.
