“Good all round...”

Visitied this hotel as part of a multi-stop trip last week. The location in Tarrytown is easy to get ot from downtown NY by train. The hotel bus service did the rest. The hotel was good on all levels apart from the Internet access. Firstly a hotel of this quality should not need to charge for it and secondly the stability (hence speed) was very frustrating.

“Enjoyable Week-end”

We had a great time. The staff was very helpful and our room as clean and comfortable.The cookies were delicious. New York is so much fun and the people are friendly.

“Nice Hotel”

For such a large hotel it is very friendly. It is very clean and well maintained. You can sometimes get a good Bed & Breakfast rate. These are worth taking as the breakfasts are good, although expensive if bought separately. Plenty of eating places in Tarrytown, the Diner opposite the hotel is excellent.

Area recommendations
Main Street in Tarrytown, just off Broadway is full of interesting shops & resaurants.

“Never again”

Check in took exactly 46 minutes. Second clerk arrived after 30 minutes. Where was management? Room directions were "over there" Employees response to directions range from "elevator over there, we don't have an elevator, blank stare, completely ignore us and walk away. Emplyee insisted that there were only 2 ice machines and both were functional. One was not working, the other was nonexistant. A third ice machine was located. Best item - check in cookies were rainchecked, but available the next morning. NEVER again.

Area recommendations
All other hotels were booked solid (graduation week), but this still had rooms -tells us something. Book competitors down the street.

“doubletree”

had requested adjoining rooms, spoke to someone a few days before check in and was told I had adjoining rooms, on checkin was told I had adjoining rooms, went to room and found I didn't have adjoining rooms. Called front desk and person was very helpful, initially she said there was nothing they could do but I told her how important it was that I was given adjoining rooms and she was able to switch the rooms. The front staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was well maintained.

“Exceeded expectations”

I had been looking for a hotel for the past week in the peekskill area to my surprise there were no good hotels in that town. After researching I found the Doubletree which was a 20min or drive away. Also, it appeared to be close off the main hwy. Well this place was great!!! Upon arriving we were greeted with friendliness. Great customer service, delicious cookies. cozy bar area. And my room was great! Happy guest here. Also, the town seem to have a good shopping area, would be a great place to stay when the weather gets nicer. I have chosen this to be my hotel of choice whenever I am in the area.
