“Home town girl goest home”

As a local, I knew this hotel for years. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was. Kids loved the pool and the breakfast. The beds were GREAT and although it isn't a 5 star fancy hotel, it is absolutely a good place to stay. Bath products are Bath and Body Works, room was clean, food was good. Hotel was a little noisy being a holiday weekend, but we had two rooms adjoining and couldn't hear anything between rooms. Only the pool gets a little loud. Well done!

“Comfortable and centrally located but minor drawbacks”

My husband and 3-year old daughter and I spent 5 days at this hotel and we were pleased that we had selected it for our stay. The positives: 1. A great location in White Bear Lake - you can walk to the cute downtown or walk to (and around) the lake. 2. Clean and comfortable rooms. 3. An indoor pool which is a huge plus for anyone with kids. 4. A nice restaurant and rooftop bar. Now, the negatives: 1. After smelling cigarette smoke in our room I contacted the hotel staff and they indicated that they still have a couple of smoking rooms. Apparently they are phasing them out but the smell is quite noticeable if you're located next to one. 2. If you have a room that looks out over the pool you get a fun view but you also get all of the noise from that central area. The walls must be thin because on the majority of evenings we were kept up with people socializing by the pool. 3. The pillows appear to have been selected for people that like to sleep in an elevated position. Be prepared to ask for ones with a shorter loft. All of that above considered we would still select The White Bear Country Inn the next time that we're in the area.

Be sure to visit the Pine Tree Apple Orchard (about 5 mins away) if you have children. Even if you don't have kids it's worth it for the caramel apples alone.

“White Bear”

Only chose this hotel because of location. Very disappointed with room- no natural light in room, stuffy, NOISY!!!! Worst hotel stay in years Overall rating - 1

“Excellent service....and then some!”

I could not have been more pleased with my stay. I left each morning at 6am, and the continental breakfast was always out and ready for me to enjoy, even though it is advertised to start at 6:30. I very much appreciated that timeliness. My room was clean and warm, and the convenience of the refrigerator was not lost on me. My interactions with the staff were few, but those I had were sufficiently friendly. Best yet...3 weeks after my stay I realized I must have left 3 pieces of clothing in my room. I called the hotel, was put right through to housekeeping, and Vanessa, the housekeeper, was able to check her lost and found log and found my clothes within minutes. She sent them back to me, free of charge, and I received them 2 days after my call. I could not be more grateful or appreciative for Vanessa's kindness and help to me, or for the safe, warm and friendly environment the hotel afforded me during my stay.

“More than expected!”

We had a great stay. We stayed over New Year's and enjoyed the hotel's restaurant and bar. The staff was very nice and accomodating. The hotel has a beautfiul pool area. The pool is very family-friendly and busy; the pool is reserved for adults later in the evening, which we enjoyed. Our only complaint was that the front desk staff was very unfriendly. They never said hello when I walked in or asked anything about the stay. It was not the best first impression (or last, when we checked out) but otherwise it was a great stay.

“WBL Best Hotel!”

Great room, lots of room. Very clean and very nice. Will stay here again the next time we visit the Cities. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff.

“Great Pool and clean room. Oh and great price!”

It was great! Nice place, room, and atmosphere.... The rooms even had Neutrogena face wash in the rooms. Food was not so good, but included. Don't pay extra for the breakfast. You just walk down and get it. Nice pool with a restaurant right at the pool. You can have some drinks and take a swim. Beds were comfortable and the room was nice. VERY CLEAN! McDonalds Next door.. Oh and go take a bus tour of StPaul and Minn. It is awesome.
