“Great Deal”
We booked this hotel because I was impressed by the reviews and it was amongst the most affordable in the Whistler Village. From the pictures it looked quite nice and clean, but many reviews complained of cramped spaces and a less that comfortable murphy bed. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was clean, cozy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the entire trip went very smoothly. The room was great, the addition of a jacuzzi and fireplace is a great, luxurious touch to an affordable room. The kitchen was surprisingly ample, and also helped cut down costs and add to a warm, comfy experience. As we had read less than favorable reviews about the murhpy bed I was a little apprehensive but it was perfectly comfortable, even, and supportive. No lumps, no odd spots, but not a pillow-top, so if your a soft bed person It may not be ideal. The front desk staff was great and very friendly. They were quite courteous and had great recommendations on places to go/eat. Over all, I would say an underrated hotel. To be fair, it's not as trendy or modern as some you would find in the area, but the location is great, the staff is friendly, and the room had character and came with more than we needed. We will definitely be thinking about Mountainside again for our next trip, and be recommending it to friends.
“older but comfortable”
This is an older hotel. The loft suite offers good space as there is a kitchenette, a sitting area with pull out sofa bed a bathroom on that same level as well as a bedroom a bath upstairs in the loft. The room is comfortable and spacious for one or two. I have stayed there a number of times and will do so again.
“served our needs”
The beds were not very comfortable. The front desk reception was not very warm and friendly, she was professional but lacked greeting. Overall the Hotel was practical, served our needs, as we had small children. We would rent it again.
“a satisfactory & affordable accommodation”
We got there a bit early but our room was ready for us. The amenities at the hotel were very good and the staff were very helpful. We had a studio room with a pull down bed which was actually very comfortable and satisfactory, but while the idea is good it didn't really help to fold it away for the day time as the resulting sofa was uncomfortable and the gain in space was not really worth it . Nevertheless our stay was comfortable and pleasant.
“Great location!”
Great location, we could watch the bikers coming down the mountain from our room. Hotel is clean and close to everything. Great hotel for the price!
“Great Customer Service”
I was very impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff, particularly those on the front desk. Very high quality.
“value and great location”
everything except the bed was of pretty good value
“Everything you need to make a great stay”
Was a bit wary after reading some reviews but didn't need to be. Great location, friendly desk staff, clean and well equipped room - all the kitchen appliances and utensils/pots/plates etc you could want, dvd, cd and cable tv, comfy pull down bed, spacious lounge and dining areas. Bathroom had full size jacuzzi bath which was good but not as good as the outdoor hot tub for relaxing in after a full days hiking. Fridge freezer was a bit noisy and there was some traffic noise in the morning but nothing too bad. Would definitely go back and happy to recommend the Mountainside Lodge.
“lovely hotel cant wait to go back great location”
hotel exactly what we wanted right on village friendly staff could keep the car there the day i left for a longer time for a minimal cost so we could enjoy the rest of the day without having to move the car cant wait to go back wish i had a longer time there
“Good location”
The hotel is on a central location of the village and everything is within walking distance. Once I got to park the car in the underground parking (for a fee), I felt no need to use it anymore until check out. Check out is 11 am but they give you until 1 pm to park on site. The loft suite is clean and is spacious enough for three or even four people. It has two full baths with a functional kitchen, a sofa bed in the living room and has a fireplace. The A/C works perfectly but the room has 2 electric fans that you can use upstairs during the summer months. The upstairs loft even has a sauna. There is a pool and hot tub on site as well as an Italian restaurant ( a bit on the pricey side though). But there a lots of good restaurants and patios all within walking distance. Whenever we will go back to Whistler, this will be our hotel of choice. Go for the loft suite even if there's only two of you !
