Our host, Joan, was very helpful and accommodating. Rooms are large, bright, and very comfortable. Located in a hilltop community 15 to 20 minutes from Knysna. Some rooms have partial ocean views. Property needs a handyman. Shower door not functioning properly, doors and windows sticking, But overall we would stay again. Be sure to have a fancy dinner one night down the road at Pembry’s

Derrick the owner was very friendly and he made some good local suggestions but the place was in need of some repairs . The breakfast was disappointing as they ran out of meat and bread 2 days plus the omelet had no ingredients . Charges for coffee pods etc were unnecessary. The property is a long walk to the beach .

Pity you did not give me live feedback. I bake bread for the guests every 2nd day plus there is normal bread both in white and brown. Perhaps you are referring to my own bread. Its so good that some guests don't think of the others still to come. I cannot stop them. Anyway I'm sorry that our guesthouse made you lower your standards. We will keep trying to do better. Simply the Best
Simply one of the best B&B experiences we have ever had. Great location close to the beach. Peaceful, quiet, a good pool, nice veranda. Super breakfast, with Derrick making wonderful omelettes! Great host with excellent local knowledge.

Wonderful guest house close to a stunning beach.
The guest house was a wonderful surprise. Room spacious, beautifully decorated and great views and sounds of the sea. The owner was friendly, knowledgeable and gave great advise about thinks to do, see and where to eat. Wish we had stayed longer, and will hopefully return in the future.

Lovely hotel in beautiful Brenton
We really enjoyed our short stay at Brenton Beach House. The owner Derrick was really friendly and helpful and gave us an excellent dinner recommendation! We were given a choice of rooms on different floors and we were also able to see the honeymoon suite, which looked amazing! Our room was huge and we'll equipped and was clean and comfortable. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk and is stunning!

Great stay!
We had a great stay and the owner recommended a wonderful restaurant BLU very close to the unit which serves some great fish and offers the most magnificent sunset in town. The breakfast was out of this world and the owner bakes and makes most of the breakfast items he serves! The bottom bedroom is a bit humid (especially the room which has the bunk beds which has a carpet) Overall a great stay and a wonderful ambiance created by the artwork from the owners!

We booked a bedroom for 3 adults with a specific request for a seperation between the main bedroom and the 3rd bed as we (as a married couple)were accompanied by an adult friend. We were however given 2 single beds pushed next to each other and another single bed merely a meter away, which compromised our privacy for the entire weekend. The guest house and especially Derricks's hositality was great, however the weekend was rather miserable due to the fact that we had no privacy. The consultant at Hotels.com assured us that the 3rd bed was seperate to the main bedroom...

Fantastic stay
Fantastic stay in spacious rooms which are renovated. Derrick is verry kind and nothing is to much asked. He has a warm personality. In the nabourhood is an good fishrestaurant.

Quiet and friendly guest house
The host and the house keeper are super friendly and helpful. They were accommodating of our hyper active 2 year old son to a point of playing with him. Derrick is an encyclopedia of things to do in the Garden Route, he helped us with our itinerary every morning.

Wonderful getaway
It was wonderful. The host is pleasant and considerate. Breakfast is a treat, he feeds cheese to a bird catching it in flight. The room is spacious and comfortable, the bathroom had a bath, shower, warming towelrack and bidet. The free wifi worked well. Quiet. Beautiful sea view. Big trees with lots of birdlife. I will go there again as soon as I can.

Superb Guest House
Excellent guest house. Peaceful, residential location yet 5 mins away from the beach and 10 mins drive to Knysna town centre and restaurants. Owner very friendly and hospitable. Happy to accommodate all our needs without any fuss and felt at home.

Heading back on the Garden Route towards Cape Town. We were greeted warmly by Derrick, who was able to provide us with information on both S Africa and locally. Short but relaxing visit.

December in South Africa
What an amazing find! Randomly found on an expedia search....price was right and they would accommodate our family of 5 for 1 night. We were traveling the garden route with our 3 young children. We arrived at sunset and blown away by the views. AMAZING! Our room was huge and they accommodated more than generously for the kids (bunk bed and had pack and play already set up in the room). We awoke in the morning to a beautiful breakfast spread and again AMAZING views. We actually tried to book another night on our way back to Cape Town the following weekend but it was sold out. You can easily walk or drive down to the beach which is wonderful. Highly recommend

Staff were very pleasant. They arranged nice meal at a nearby restaurant. The room was well appointed, however the curtains did not close completely and so the morning sun prevented a sleep in. Beakfast was European style, not traditional South African. In our case other guests emptied a lot of the trays very quickly.

Owner and staff made a sincere effort to make you welcome and the property is beautifully maintained with a great breakfast. Only draw back it is a little far from town but this is an excellent restaurant down the hill

I am unable to give this b & b 5 stars as although I made this booking 5 months in advance I probably got the worst room in the place which was dark and lacked privacy. I was expecting a double bed with a pool view of which this room 'Nick Price' (they are all named after golfers) had neither. Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend Brenton Beach house but ask for Ernie Els.

great place.
absolutely perfect for our family with family room downstairs with virtual privacy and seperate small room with bunkbeds for the kids and private access to the swimming pool, which my 5 year swimaholic just LOVED. the only downside was the steep staircase to access the room- we are heavy travellors and were moving around the garden route, and with both the owner and myself having back and/or hip issues respectively and no porters,being a small establishment, moving the luggage up and down was an issue. Derek was amazing and helped us despite his hip issues, and is such a decent fellow, that he wouldnt even ask the female maids to carry the heavy bags, but preferred to do it himself, but if you take the family room and want help with lots of heavy bags, i suggest you have a driver who is prepared to do the carrying for you to avoid such problems. awesome beach about 500m down a steep but fun path which my 3 year old boy and i walked down to explore and great central location for the garden route as well as for the beaches of brenton and the knysna district. have your own car! great place to stay.

Best Break and Breakfast!
It was all about the fine touches in the BnB, Derek made us feel at home and had a wonderful time at the stay. He would ensure that we knew about the touristy places as well as the the local hot spots and local markets. Its a little away from knysna town ( 6 km) at the same time that's the charm of the place. Summary: Will visit again and would recommend it to friends

This is a charming place to stay in Knysna. The location is beautiful although a bit far from town, which is only inconvenient for access to a selection of restaurants. The service is excellent.

Lovely quiet guesthouse in great location.
Had a lovely stay. The house is located in a quiet area, but with easy access to the beach and nearby Knysna. The sound of the waves in the front, and the tranquil garden at the back make a lovely setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, especially for groups and sports enthusiasts (golfers!)
