Intruder Alert!

Posted 04-Sep-2014
Pros: Decor, Location.
Cons: Staff, dispute resolution, security.
Location: Close to Long Island Expressway, fantastic movie theatre near by
I stayed at the Viana Hotel and Spa for one night with my girlfriend. The hotel was relatively clean and we were impressed by some of the decor. The room service we ordered was fair, and it came within the timeframe we were given. The real issue didn't occur until after midnight when we were fast asleep. We woke up to an intruder entering our room. We both yelled for him to get out and he exited quickly and quietly. We were both shaken up, and my girlfriend refused to spend the rest of the night there. We checked out at the front desk at about 12:15a. The staff heard our story and offered minimal apologies. The gentleman at the front desk suggested it may have been an accident, perhaps someone had to much to drink. They assured us that they hadn't given out any room keys, but that was all they would say. We left with my girlfriend in tears and we slept in my car for the rest of the night. The following morning I called the Viana and spoke to the manager, Typhoon, who was of absolutely no help. He essentially said I was lying and he couldn't do anything at all to help me. I was very disappointed. I would never stay there again.

Nice stopover.

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: The room was very large for a twin double, and well appointed.
Cons: The air conditioning was noisy. Needed more cream and sugar for the Keurig machine. A few more Keurig pods would have been nice.
Location: Attended a Mets game and the US Open, about 20 miles away. All highway.
This was a nice hotel, conveniently located near several major highways. Had read in previous reviews that the rooms were small, but not the one that we stayed in. For a twin double it was very spacious. Also read in previous reviews that the staff was less-than-friendly. If that was ever true, it is no more. The staff could not have been friendlier. They went out-of-their-way to be friendly.

Excellent Hotel!

Posted 25-Aug-2014
Pros: What I liked about this hotel is the service I received from the staff and the cleanliness of the room/hotel.
Cons: can't think of one.
Location: westbury music hall,
Every aspect of my stay at the Viana was fantastic. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was greeted with a big smile. Check-in was quick. The food at the Marco Polo restaurant was delicious, service is really good. I loved that the room was modern, clean, and had a mini fridge.

Action Packed Hotel

Posted 19-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is really beautiful and the rooms are very modern and comfortable. A lot of younger people seemed to be attracted to it. There was so much going on when we walked through the doors. Weddings and events of all kinds. All though, we were never disturbed in our room, I 'd rather a hotel that is a bit more low key. One major disadvantage is the parking. Very limited, especially for outside the city in Long Island. Be prepared to park down the street and walk b/c the lot fills quickly.

Blown Away - FANTASTIC

Posted 17-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
The service, cleanliness, style, and experience of this hotel was fantastic. Every amenity was well done - rooms with Keurig brewers are normal, but here they give you 4 free pods and a bottle of water. Workout rooms with machines are normal - here they have a mini-pool and hot tub also. Breakfast buffetts are normal - here the food is good with a wide selection. Fantastic work Viana!

Far exceeding my expectations (and I travel every week to major cities), this hotel has a great atmosphere, trendy menu, and a very useful fitness/spa center. Highly recommend.

Nice boutique hotel on island.

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Cons: Better food options for late night. A hard copy menu would be helpful too.
Location: Good location if you're in Nassau or Suffolk counties.
Really nice treatment from very friendly staff. I like smaller boutique hotels and I truly thought this hotel was perfect. I would stay again. They have parking too not to mention a mini spa with steam, sauna and a pool. It's just nice to know its there in case....

Hidden gem!

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: Location, rates and service.
Cons: Not much in the immediate area. No great restaurants or places of interest. You have to drive fifteen to twenty minutes to find anything interesting
Location: See above.
If you're looking for an upscale hotel in Nassau County, your options are limited. What a wonderful surprise to find the Viana Hotel. Great location to parkways. Reasonable rates and excellent service.
