Not a great experience

Posted 09-Apr-2015
Booked a twin was shown to a double . Was then kept waiting 35 minutes while they sorted it only to be shown to the same room where the beds have been split. Bed on wheels so it kept moving about.

Lovley Leisure Facilities

Posted 07-Apr-2015
Pros: Leisure facilities rooms bathroom was fab
Cons: some of the furniture is a bit tired looking but this was't a problem
Location: you need a car
Hotel overall was great food good and rooms lovely - our greeting at reception was great and all the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the heating didn't work and the maid missed out both of our rooms on one day. Leisure facilities were just what we needed and were kept lovely and clean although they ran out of towels on our last two visits Didn't like the bar it was very noisey and only seemed to be aimed at heavy drinkers and football fans so we didn't feel comfortable there. The restaurant was lovely though and the evening staff lovely, breakfast was lovely too. Wifi was consistant and very useful. Easy to find places nearby although you do need a car as there is nothing near the hotel itself. .

Warm and friendly staff

Posted 30-Mar-2015
Pros: Friendly staff and excellent leisure facilities.
Cons: N/A
Location: N/A
We arrived quite late and wanted room service although this service is only available from the main restaurant. As we wanted something less formal we decided to dine in the bar which was very noisy and slightly off-putting. That said, the food served was find and the staff helpful and friendly.

Good location for the city

Posted 10-Mar-2015
Pros: Very friendly staff. Great facilities ie pool. Quiet room. Good wall-mounted TV. Good wifi connection.
Cons: Room look a bit tired, the brown laminate wearing in a number of place so a bit shabby. More choice on the TV would have been a plus
Location: Convenient for Elland Road for those who are football fans. Park and Ride not far so easy to get into the city which has great shops, arcades.
Overall a good experience. Food in Victory cafe not great possibly more geared for drinkers. rooms comfortable and amenities appreciated - hairdryer, iron etc. Were there for 3 nights and room was serviced each morning.

Swimming pool

Posted 17-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
We stayed at this hotel as wanted a swimming pool. We had planned a family swim on arrival after our 3 hour journey and wanted to swim prior to breakfast the next day as we had to leave at 10am . We were told when we arrived at 6 pm that children were not allowed in the pool after 5 pm and not b4 9 am the next day. No where on the website does it say this - I was not happy neither were the children! We went to our room to find the children's beds weren't made up!! Staff aplogised but this should be clear on the website ! The next day the staff were very helpful next morning and allowed us to have a lite breakfast at 7 am (then waited two hours for children to go into pool ) and full breakfast after swim !

Not good

Posted 15-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
Did not enjoy the stay here as we are used to the Urban Village in Hull which is much better overall. The rooms here are dark, the Venetian blind was broken. Only one draw in the room and it was in the bottom of the wardrobe which is in a corner of the room and very dark so you cant see in it properly. The air conditioning unit is placed low down the wall and you have to kneel on the floor to see it properly. the bathroom sink tap is a joy stick and not easy to control.

Will not come again

Posted 13-Feb-2015 on Hotels.com
Room was very cold but staff managed to fix it instantly, nice facilities but it can get a bit dirty when people start walking into the hot tub with shoes (hair and dust balls on ground when you had to walk into the pool bare feet) they do have a rule saying you cannot wear shoes beyond the shower area but people don't listen and staff was not saying anything. Food is very good with excellent early bird price. The most annoying thing would be the hotel is not able to print a receither when I check out if I booked hotel.com or Expedia or other external agent, this makes my businless trip quite hard and it's ridiculous that the hotel does not support the system from third party booking. I was thinking of setting a business account with them but in lieu of that, it's a no brainer to think that itshould just not adequate for business purpose.
