“Location, location, and comfort”
Fantastic location, just around the corner from train station. Was able to walk to armory, and was provided a map and helpful suggestions of other things to see. Shopping is also close. Would stay here again.
“Great "Non-London" Base for UK travel”
Stayed for 5 nights with my daughter, who is studying in the UK. Lovely historic hotel built in the '30s - still has the art deco flair of the decade with all the conveniences you'd want in a modern hotel. Took some day trips to other areas by train; the hotel, built the same time as the rail station, has its own entrance to the station! No crowds to pass and no getting wet in the rain! Made it very convenient for us to arrive late and not worry about our safety on return to the hotel from the station. Room was spacious, clean, comfy beds (we had a great view overlooking the old Post Office) warming rack for towels - a TUB! - only complaint was no hair dryer. Did not eat at the hotel as it seemed a bit pricey but would budget that in next time. Very nice business center where we could check emails or go online to search sites of things to do. Great staff - would stay again! Friday and Saturday are Stag and/or Hen party nights, it seems. Those were the only noise issues we had, and even then, our room was situated where the noise from the revellers coming in wasn't all that bad.
“A hotel with character”
A hotel with style, smack in the centre of the city.
“Had a great stay”
I had a great time staying at The Queens, great location next to the train station, handy for the bus to the airport. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was one of the best Ive stayed in and I loved the art deco design. Free wi fi for 2 hours puts the bigger chains to shame. 10 out of 10 for the breakfast too!
“Good location hotel.”
Good location. Decor is old & tired & is like rooms from the seventies. Furniture is old. Relatively clean. Had to remind them to add soap after 3 days of using same small piece of soap.
“Spme call it art deco - I call it crap!”
A step back in time...The Queens Hotel seems top be set back in a 1950s time warp. That includes the lifts, and rather unfortunately the decor, carpets, beds and furniture. I have seen better things thrown away at the tip. My room had poor secondary double glazing which stopped none of the noise - police sirens stc. from the street below. The service was very good, but the hotel seems to be very poor value when compared with such as the Leeds City Inn hotel which I stayed in the night before. I would not bother to stay there again!
“Excellent Location to Stay in Leeds”
The hotel was great. Central location - nice big room with all the amenities. Only had valet parking at the hotel - but that seemed to work out well. V. short distance to walk right to the shops and was right next to the train station. (Couldn't heard the trains at all though). Overall - a great place to stay in Leeds.
“Impressive levels of service”
It was a pleasant surprise to encounter such high standards of service. Members of staff at check-in were very helpful and everything ran smoothly (e.g they were expecting me). Breakfast was a definite step up in quality from what you would normally expect. When I did have to phone reception not only did they answer the phone quickly but they were informed, helpful with a definite customer service focus. Overall, it was a refreshing experience. The only reason for not giving it the full five stars is that the bed could have been more comfortable, but I'm being really picky here and the bed was not uncomfortable.
“We will use this hotel again,”
Hi, The main problem with this Hotel is the bar, we couldn't beleive it, there was lots of people waiting for a drink at the bar yet there was only one bar person serving, we had to wait ages every time we wanted a drink. Other than that the Hotel was fine.
“Would definitely return to Queens Hotel.”
Only a 1 night stay during which we were suitably impressed.Despite being in Leeds city centre it was extremely quiet. So much so we did something we never do, we overslept! The view from our window on the 7th floor over the main square was fantastic and fingers crossed we would get the same again. We paid extra for breakfast and for this there was a good selection including pastries, cheese & cold meats or a cooked breakfast. Overall a great stay.
