Hotel was very tired. Room was awful

Cons: Everything really needs improving at this hotel.
From start to finish the visit to the hotel was disappointing. When calling the hotel the staff could not hear us due to a wedding party in the reception area - we had to keep calling back. When we arrived you could hardly hear the desk staff due to the noise coming from the wedding party. Why were the wedding in the reception area and not in the bar or another function room? When we arrived in the room we were thoroughly disappointed. The room was very poorly decorated and the lighting was awful. The furniture in the room was scratched and would not have looked out of place at a second hand furniture store. This is NOT 4 star quality by any stretch of the imagination. The bar in the hotel is so small and soulless I hardly see the point of having it. The breakfast was a joke......all the food that was meant to be ot was cold and the sausages were for hobbits. Why is the quality of the brWill not stay at this hotel again.

Nice hotel but a bit expensive

Pros: Easy to check in, nice accommodation, and easy to check out
Cons: Knowing what was going on, on this particular week, ie auditions etc, get more staff in to help out.
Location: The location of the hotel to Leeds railway station was very good and easy to find. I didn't venture out due to the activities within the hotel.
I checked in on Monday 15th September with no problems. I then went to the restaurant for an evening meal. The restaurant was grossly under staffed compared to the amount of guests present. It didn't help when one waitress spent about 10 to 15 minutes talking to two presumed guests and was quite oblivious to what was going on around her. Her actions were not what you would expect in a busy restaurant. The following morning I went for breakfast, knowing I would have to pay for it as it wasn't included in the booking. When I checked out, I was asked if I had a tkt or a card, and when I said no, I was charged the same price for my breakfast as I paid for my main meal the night before. This made my breakfast very expensive.

City centre hotel near to airport bus stop

Pros: Handy for walking areas and very convenient for train and bus station
Cons: Hot plates for breakfast and don't run short of food
Location: 5 minutes from bus stop going to LBA airport and just a bit further from train station. But still near the city centre.
A bit slow at check-in - only one on duty dealing with someone who was making an online booking for the hotel! Reasonable choice for breakfast but had to wait for orange juice to be refilled. Spoiled by plates being cold.

Not a high end hotel

Looks as if it was designed and built to be a high end hotel, but it just doesn't cut it. Had to go and find a bar man to serve me on 2 occasions. Hotel and rooms need some general TLC, currently look a little shabby.

I stayed here over the weekend the 12th Jul for two nights- the hotel wasn't the cleanest & the room was by far the tiniest room I've ever stayed in EVER & the bed was tiny (double if you could call it that) the room was VERY claustrophobic I wouldn't stay again as it was a lot of money for what it was

I stayed here on a particularly hot day and the room I was given had a sash window that didn't stay open so it had to be wedged open using a hairdryer, so an uncomfortable night's sleep ensued. The room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned (empty bottles behind the bedside cabinet); the carpet was frayed around the edges and there was evidence of damp on one of the walls. The floorboards in the adjacent corridor creaked loudly when walked on, disturtbing your sleep. Good location but very poor quality hotel. How this hotel gets a 4* rating is beyond me.

Conveinient location

The Met is located about a two minute walk from the railway station, and within easy walking distance of all Leeds city centre amenities. It is good quality overall, although the room I was in was rather small. The food in the restaurant is always reliably good, and the bufffet breakfast varied and good quality. I have stayed here several times before on visits to Leeds, and would recommend it.

Noisy hotel close to Station limited facilities

Location: Close to the railway station and shopping complexes
There was no wifi in the rooms and no leads for minicomputers to the internet. My room was extremely noisy with bins being emptied into a large rubbish truck late at night and early morning on the cobbled street outside the room. The floor was gritty and remained so throughout the stay. One of the room lights did not work. There were no tissues in the bathroom and the toiletries were not replaced. There was no airconditioning but because of the noise I had to keep the window closed. My bathroom was set up for someone in a wheelchair, which luckily I do not need. There was no comment made about this when the room was allocated. Not somewhere I would ever return to or recommend.

A solid hotel, perhaps a bit pricey

Location: Being in downtown Leeds is really convenient. You can catch the bus to the Uni or to anywhere else in town very easily.
Our room was very comfortable. The bed was excellent. The bathroom was nice, and although it was an old hotel, it has been modernized. I will say that those who are elderly or disabled would have a hard time climbing in and out of the bathtub in our room, which has very steep sides. The most serious complaint I have about the hotel is that the internet access is a huge pain. You can't connect to wireless in your room, and the service is patchy at best. I don't doubt this is because it's a big, old, heavy building, but a four-star hotel really ought to have faultless internet service.
