Central hotel but disappointing

Posted 28-Jul-2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The cleaning and maintenance of rooms, not acceptable for what customers pay. A door on the bathroom for privacy!! room 807
Have always stayed at the Leeds Marriott but thought we'd try somewhere different. This hotel was slightly more expensive but the hotel and facilities attracted us from the website. It was our wedding anniversary and wanted it to be extra special. When we arrived we were informed we were staying in a double windowed room on the corner with fabulous views. Our room actually only had one window. The room had not been cleaned to a good standard with dust/dirt around the carpet edges and coffee/dirt stains on the white walls which clearly stood out. The bathroom door had been removed and the hinges and screws found in a drawer which should of been used for clothes. No bathrobe available as promised in our package and the fridge was also covered in coffee and milk stain from the tea/coffee making facilities above. The sink was also blocked resulting in the water/toothpaste etc taking ages to drain away... not pleasant!! We asked if another room was available but were informed there was not. The best thing was the air conditioning available during the hot weather.

Great hotel and good location

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: Easy access for the shops and O2
Cons: Free car parking would be nice!
Location: Good location for the centre for shops and the O2
If you are driving call in advance and get a different postcode for the hotel. Car park is location a short walk from the hotel and costs £12 for 24 hours. Thought this was cheeky considering you are paying to stay at their hotel, the car park should be free. Lovely hotel though. Bed comfortable and great nights sleep. Breakfast is worth every penny - so much choice. Free wifi in the rooms, no noise on Floor 7 for sure. Air Con is not quote air con - lowest setting is 19 degrees but it did the job. Very clean and tidy. Would stay here again but would also look for a hotel with it's own car park next time first.

Excellent breakfast

Posted 14-Jul-2014
Pros: Excellent Breakfast
Cons: Very dark in some areas of the hotel, small bar area, some rooms not fully upgraded.
Location: Excellent location, the best in Leeds.
Great hotel in centre of Leeds, right outside Trinity shopping complex. One of the best breakfast meals I can remember in a hotel.

Just one night

Posted 29-Jun-2014
Pros: As central as you can be but no noise whatsoever. Soundproofing was excellent.
Cons: Rooms need modernizing. But that is just me being extra picky.
Location: Lots of things to do in Leeds. There are loads of great bars. Cinema. Restaurants.
We only stayed at the Park Plaza for one night. The check in was very quick and staff were helpful. Our room was on the 4th floor but I wanted to see a good view of Leeds. So they put us on the 19th floor. Brilliant view. Checkout was as easy as dropping the key cards into a box. Definitely be back.

Within 10 minute walk to the arena

Posted 19-Jun-2014
Pros: Closeness to where we wanted to be.
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Very close to the station. Plenty of restaurants bars and shops.
We were offered the choice two rooms, one on the 7th floor and one on the 18th which is the one we took. We were happy with the room. Only thing was air conditioning was rather loud but we just turned it off. We used the bar after returning back to the hotel and didn't have to wait long even though it was pretty busy.
