Rooms getting tired, bed was sub bedsit in comfort

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: Still stylish, Malmaison hotels have been good in the past.
Cons: Our room needed complete renovation.
Still stylish, but the hotel doesn't look to have been updated since it opened. Our room had a loose toilet that wobbled when you sat on it, with a marked seat that looked tired. The tiles were marked / stained. The heating had a mind of it's own and didn't seem to be able to keep up with it being a corner room and the cold outside being close to zero. The bed was terrible - it physically moved as you sat on it, stains all over the base. The mattress was thin, lumpy with springs that pinged as you moved. My partner moved, I bounced along like a bouncy castle. Truly, it was like they'd bought it from argos for £20 10 years before. The travelodge we stayed in the following night was far more comfortable and a third the price. I paid more for this than pretty much all the other options in Leeds that night - big mistake.

Great location, lovely staff and an amazing bed!

Posted 02-Feb-2015
Pros: Location, location, location!!!!
Cons: being able to control the heating more
Location: Shopping galore, great bars and restaurants all right outside the door.
We booked a twin room for a girls weekend away and were really happy when we arrived on a cold Friday to a lovely warm welcome at reception. Though it was too early to check in they did try to find us a room but as there wasnt one available yet we were given a hot drink, before heading out for an afternoon of shopping. After checking in later our room was a welcome sight. A little on the cold side for us and it was a shame we couldnt increase the temperature above 25 which considering it was freezing outside would have been good. The hotel bar was really busy but the staff were really good and friendly. We didnt eat at the hotel but the food did smell good. If you want to be near the centre but yet get a great nights sleep in a quiet and comfy hotel then choose Malmaisson. We loved it!

Pros: Clean, nicely set up. Good, helpful staff. Near City centre. Great breakfast.
Cons: Like it as it us.
Location: City centre, eateries galore, location spot on.
Friendly staff, very good service, nice room at a reasonable rate. Will stop at Mal maison again when visiting Leeds.

Solid Leeds hotel

Comfortable hotel with excellent beds and strong shower. Slightly musky smell in the bathroom and chipped fittings mean it will need a refurb in 1-3 years. Older gentleman at reception must have been having a bad day as was quite brisk in his dealings at the counter. Would stay again.

Terrible nights sleep

Posted 11-Nov-2014
Room was a good size but not as clean as I would expect when paying £150 for the night. Found hairs in the bed and silverfish in the bathroom. The pillows were flat so no support but didn't get much sleep due to the drunk shouting and kicking doors in the early hours. The shower was lovely and steaming hot and bath ran really quickly. Staff on reception were lovely and let us check in early without any fuss.

Good hotel for city centre event.

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: Lovely historic building and interesting hotel style - boutique but very affordable.
Cons: We asked to book a table for 11 for breakfast but were told it was not possible - when we came down in the morning it was quite empty!
Location: Like any city centre you are going to get some noise of late night revellers leaving local pubs and clubs. Great pub The Adelphi very near by.
Stayed here for an event in the centre of Leeds and this was an easy distance to go to and fro to the hotel etc. Hotel was very friendly and tried to accommodate all our group requests but the bar was very busy on Friday between 5 and 8 pm and we struggled to find a table to seat more than 2 people.

Cant fault it!

Having stayed at most Leeds hotels I always stay here when Im back in Leeds. The staff are amazing. Its laid back and very friendy. Bar not the cheapest but great location moments from the centre. They also do a hefty discount on the parking next door to if you drive there. The rooms are lovely, the beds huge and very comfy. The bathrooms are beautiful with a hot power shower ... And the shower gel and shampoo are amazing. So much so that when I checked out and mentioned it the ladies on the front desk presented me with a gift wrapped set!
