“Decent budget hotel”
Its only a budget hotel, so you dont expect luxury, and you dont get it. But for what it is, its a decent enough place to stay, room and breakfast wise. I was down in the 'bowels', so I cant comment on any view. Bad points, I was presented with a receipt as a Mr, despite booking as a Ms, no idea why? And I know things can be bad, but a £10 deposit for a TV remote, seriously? Its a decent enough budget hotel, and if you want something cheap and cheerful in Leeds, this fits the bill quite nicely
“Comfortable clean hotel even though it was rated only a 2 star!”
This hotel was right across the street from the rail station which was very good for us. The room was spacious and clean and although it was right downtown it was very quiet in the room. within a couple of blocks there were several pubs and a convenience store. staff were very friendly and helpful.
“Small Room and Noisy but location great”
Ok, Its a small room and is very noisy throughout the night(weekend!) very cheap and the location is brilliant, dead centre of leeds so you cant complaint.
“You get what you pay for”
We knew this was a cheap hotel and that;s exactly how it felt. We arrived with my mum. She was on floor 5 we were put on 8. To get to floor 6 you took the lift from the ground floor to 5 then walked up a flight of stairs. To get to 8 you took the lift to reception -floor 3- walkked along some corridors and you were suddenly on floor 7 in another building. A building that looked like it might be used in a Hitchcock movie and smelled of damp! Then you went up another flight of stairs or in the lift to floor 8. Everything below 7 was blocked off and appeared disused. The hotel was very convenient to the train station and city centre but was in quite a seedy area. Wish we had paid a bit more!
“OK”
Centrally placed so convenient for onward travel. Confusing layout - floor 3 from the entrance was the Reception desk location but became floor 7 when coming to it from the rooms? Extremely unpleasant musty smell in the older part of the hotel, but the rooms were fine, except for the incessant squeaking of the floorboards - everywhere. Perhaps I'm nit-picking but I'd have appreciated some more information, such as Is the water from the bathrooom suitable for making a cup of tea? How to set the alarm clock. Another blanket? We eventually found one in the wardrobe. Do the lights in the corridors have to be on ALL night.? It meant that our room never actually darkened down for sleep
“I loved it”
it was at a perfect location!! walking distance to everything i needed and to all the places i wanted to go.
“Good value hotel”
This is a good value hotel for those prefering affordable (but clean) over glamour and full hotel services (although enough of the basics for most people I would think). The double room we had was no fills, but clean and comfortable- but for the price we paid we were pleased with the value for money. The location is ideal if arriving by train, and is also in a prime spot to all the shops and nightlife (but not noisy at night though). Didn't have breakfast so can't rate that, but reception staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend to friends, and consider staying there again.
“Very convenient for Leeds Centre”
Extremely convenient and well placed hotel being opposite the train station. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms are warm and hot water was always available. Discount is given if using the very nearby Criterion Q Car Park ( discounted to £11.80 instead of £15 for 24 hours parking). Breakfast was basic continental style for £3.75- by voucher from reception. The hotel is so central you could easily eat out for all meals. Very good Persian restaurant opposite hotel. All in a good 2 day stay and will book here again if I need to go to Leeds. The only thing I would change is to ask for room away from the lift as it's got a Lift "voice" which is very annoying when trying to have an early night as it keeps saying "lift going down" etc.
“Convenient”
The Discovery Inn is very convenient if traveling by train. It is literally a block from the Leeds train station. The room was nondescript and needed some work, but it was clean. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The hotel is also convenient to downtown Leeds.
