Lovely... But noisy.

Posted 21-Nov-2014
Lovely views of the canals. Glass of wine on arrival. Very handy for the Royal Armouries (important for me as I was visiting the Thought Bubble Comic Convention. Really nice room. Only down side was that my room was close to the Millenium Bridge leading to the Brewary Quay. Lots of very drunk and loud folk singing through the night. I'd definitely stay again, all the same, but would ask to have a room away from the bridge.

Great central location

Posted 04-Nov-2014
Pros: Staff were great as was the location and the quirky / historic building.
Cons: New carpets in corridors and rooms. Windows needed repainting and catches / handles repairing.
Location: Leeds shopping, Yorkshire Playhouse, great restaurants nearby ( incl. Brasserie 44 next door and Tapas restaurant two doors up the street).
Charming hotel staff in a great location in an old converted mill on the banks of the Aire. It's a very old building so no air-con and a few creaky floor boards, but otherwise it's fine for an overnight or a city break. Lovely warm bathroom, with plenty of space in which to wallow with a book or glass of wine - complimentary on arrival. Room was clean and spacious and the large bed very comfortable. The original hotel conversion / renovation was approx 20 years ago, and is showing its age in parts - e.g. worn and slightly shabby carpets, peeling paintwork, broken window catches etc. However, these were not a big deal and wouldn't put me off returning. Free wifi in rooms, plus tea / coffee and minibar. No parking on site, but modern NCP multi-storey a few hundred yards away (£20 approx per day)

Pros: the unique atmosphere and excellent setting
Cons: a later breakfast time during the week ...
Location: it is set in a very cultured area with everything you could wish for within a 15 min stroll
in a word excellent ,could not fault anything ,we wanted a individual and bespoke hotel ...and wow it delivered what it promised, amazing room ( over looking the river ) and amazing service . ....we will be staying again without a doubt .

Boutique hotel in the Calls district of Leeds

Posted 02-Oct-2014
Pros: Location, comfort, nice touches ( i.e. wine on check-in, fudge and biscuits in room, froggie soaps and huge luxurious bath robes), bathroom.
Cons: Almost time to redecorate, electric sockets mostly didn't work and bedside lamp didn't light.
Location: We went to a concert at First Direct Arena....close to shopping, nice walks by the river Aire.
Overall it was very good...lovely bathroom with tub and robes (adorable frog soaps!), had difficulty getting sockets to work for recharging electronics and one bedside lamp didn't work...maybe needed a new bulb. Lovely view...ask for river side if you can get it. A little noisy on the weekends as clabbers return home after a night out. Wonderful restaurant, Brasserie 44, next door for dinner and had a wonderful breakfast in the hotel itself. Overall very good experience!

Good hotel, needs refurbishing

Posted 20-Sep-2014
Pros: Very conveinient location
Cons: General upgrading is required
The hotel location was great and the Directors room I booked was big and had everything I needed, except a safe. My room was tired with stains on the carpet, windows that you couldn't open and no air conditioning. The bathroom was decent but lacked style with a chain holding the shower screen in place and free toiletries that were fixed to the wall. The TV system was being upgraded but there were holes in the wall behind an old fashioned mounting system.
