“Hotel OK but room very disappointing”
There is a pleasant approach through well-tended grounds and ample parking. The reception staff were pleasant and efficient. At breakfast, coffee and juice are served at the table but food is the usual self-service buffet. Variety is good including a decent range of hot foods. How ‘hot’ depends how soon you get to the food after it is delivered from the kitchen. After a while it is warm rather than hot, but still OK. Our main problem with this restaurant was inconsistent cleanliness. We saw cereal, crumbs and dust in a pile on the breakfast restaurant floor and stained hot water jugs. Dinner was OK but not exceptional. Our room was very cramped, with only one hard chair and no soft chairs at all. When we arrived (in December) the radiator was off so the room was cold. The window was quite small and overlooked the recycling area. The real issue with this was the noise. Even late into the night trolleys were dragged across the tarmac outside the window and bottles crashed into the recycling bins. In the morning delivery and recycling lorries arrived and manoeuvred from about 6.20 right outside the window. There is a leisure club whose facilities are available for use by hotel guests but the pool is very small. There is also an outdoor pool but it was closed. Wi-fi is extortionate. It is free elsewhere. With a better room than ours you might be happy here but our experience would not encourage us to return. Evidently ‘Hilton’ does not equate to excellence after all.
“well looked after”
Excellent facilities .Lovely staff, very peaceful and relaxed with excellent food.bit noisy during the night but I will forgive them that. Will go back again
“Clean, friendly”
Nice Hotel, nice location. Breakfast a bit not so great
“Good getaway”
I look my aging parents to the spa hotel for a change of scenery. Trying to find a facility with disabled access was a task. But the hotel staff were most helpful and my parents accommodation although quite a distance from the reception was on the ground floor as I requested. While there I checked the proper facilities for disabled people and the disabled access rooms are over 200m away from the main building with loads of stair lifts for the several small flight of stairs. The small lift to the restaurant did not work while we were there, However the hotel was great value for the price, the food good, accommodation comfortable and the leisure facilities were pleasant. It is situated in the grounds of an 18 hole golf-course. I would definitely consider returning to this hotel.
“Good hotel”
Dinner at lounge bar did not arrive for 60 mins
“Good, but only because it was 2 nights for price of 1.”
Nice hotel overall but if we were paying full price, we wouldn't have been thrilled with the room. Standard double was very small and extremely hot in the summer (no aircon, but a tabletop fan provided). Indoor pool was pretty tiny and the gym was even smaller. Outdoor pool was fairly basic but nice enough. The grounds are really well kept and the hotel looks lovely from the outside. Looks a little tired on the inside though. The restaurant was surprisingly good in the evening (very high standard and fairly reasonable). Overall, fine for a cheap stay with lots of facilities and a good location for Chichester and Arundel. Not really a 4 star hotel though, so if no amazing offers, I'd say look elsewhere.
“4 Star??”
How can a hotel in the south of England have 4 stars when it has no air conditioning? Our room was on the ground floor, so we didn't feel we could leave the windows open when we were out. It was also at the rear of the hotel so maintanance and housekeeping staff would walk by at 5-6am chatting to each other, and with the window open it sounded like they were in the room. When we enquired about changing rooms, and prefferably upgrading to a better room (we offered to pay the difference) there was a language problem (and not because we're scottish!), so we failed to make our request understood. It's not a bad hotel, but not great for a 4 star.
“Good Value”
I managed to stay for 2 nights half price so was very good value for money. Staff were very friendly excellent customer service. Only moan would be that their is no air con so my room was boiling and the heated bathroon mirror didnt help even with a desk fan it was almost unbearable though the hotel did everything they could to help ice buckets etc
“Super-spacious suite for families”
A smart, rather than super-luxurious hotel. The gardens and rooms are in great condition, the exterior of the building needs a bit of TLC. Lovely warm pool. Excellent breakfast in lovely restaurant. Our suite was enormous, with the children in the lounge and we stayed in the adjoining bedroom. Large bathroom.
